This is actually a very interesting series with a credible take on a highly significant turning point in Chinese history. It is a remix of a series from a few years ago, which I can't remember the name of, but I watched all 79 episodes with fascination. It's a great story, but none of the stars come from the current crop of young superstars. However, giving it a stupid name and using the names of the latest crop of stars to sell it, and especially Xiao Zhan, is unconscionable. It is an insult to those who made the film and to those unrelated stars named in the photo on every episode. I highly recommend this series for anyone with the maturity to watch it. I don't understand why whomever posted it would do so much work then trash their own product.

Excellent comment! I too began watching this to see Xiao Zhan again (he's so amazing) and found it hard to stick with it once I found out from another commenter that it's just the good old 'click-bait'. But I'm now at episode 47 and finally I'm excited to watch (!!). Very dry storyline but the active and scenarios are so exquisite. I have been to China 10x over the years and have loved every minute spent there, including a stint in Dalian as a wedding photographer for Yumi Katsura Photo Studio in the Bohai Pearl hotel (floors 3 & 5) - that was EPIC!

I feel the same always showing lusi pictures that is so wrong

And I thought Peter Jackson's Battle in the Lord of the Rings was phenomenal...alot of his battles were with "massive CG" but this opening battle(with real people) is unbelievable! The armor, the tactics, the trebuchet, the cross bows all are stunning!! Job well done! Hear ! Hear!

I wholeheartedly agree! And there are several other epic battles in the series too. Good stuff! No wire-work, no CGI.

The costuming and set designs of this drama are r3ally good so far.

Great epic depiction of a pivotal time of Chinese history! Excellent locations, costumery, and battle-scenes - HIGHLY recommended by me 🙂

Hope Xiao zhan is here otherwise thats not fair 😡

The fighting screen is so good

At the moment bit confused,which came first, this drama or My beloved queen,which is really 👍 good.One highly recommends both so you can make comparison.Mind you My beloved queen must have had a big budget,big stars of course,my favourite hostage prince.yummy yummy.😊
