The first of 3 videos showing the creation of my first multi-scale bass guitar. This jazz bass was started in 2016 and completed in 2018, an on and off again project for me when I had the time. Part 1 shows the basic construction of the neck and body, beginning in my first at home basement shop. The 5 piece maple/walnut neck is topped with a lightly curled maple fretboard bound with jatoba. The neck was then glued to a body of ash topped with redwood burl, maple and jatoba veneers. Scale length is 35"-32.5"
