Multi-Placer 101: My Favorite Tips and Tricks
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hi, diamond painting friends! Today's video is a special request from a wonderful viewer about using multi-placers to speed up work on large sections of color when diamond painting. If you're an experienced diamond painter, be sure to share your favorite multi-placer tips in the comments below!
There are many "right" ways to work on diamond paintings, and I don't claim to be an expert, but I hope you find today's video helpful. The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the process!
Here are links to some of the tools I use in today's video:

I like the “real” videos! Especially for us newbies! Watching some makes us wonder what we are doing wrong as they appear to be so perfect!
This is one of the best tutorials I've ever watched! Thank you so much!

I’ve watched a few of these videos and yours was the best. At least it made the most sense to me! And you have a very good voice! Not to fast, not to slow and a good quality to it!

Thank you!!! I started doing this and realized I can pick up my drills very much off center, and the more you can see your drills, the easier it is to place them down! I tried one of the tape/straight edge placers (where you put the double stick tape on) and found out, even though I can see much more of the drills, the stability is lost; so they wobble if they don’t go down perfectly in their spot. Really love your tips and tricks! Thank you!

Game changers galore!!! My goodness totally took my Diamond Painting to a new level. The current project am working on has LOTS of dark drills across the canvas and this helped So Much! The tip about the parchment paper got off your other video and helped with the constant frustratingly sticking to the canvas. Lol thought was going to loose my mind. Also was wondering what the straight edge tool was for and that too helped tremendously. Did watch the confetti video and that will help as this painting as a lot of it. Like the idea of taking small sections at a time, less overwhelming. Thank you so much! Appreciate your tips, your videos and you :)

I am new to all of this and I want to thank u for the tips. I have a canvas where the squares r very large and multi placement is hard. So I end up having to replace them in the center of the squares. I ordered a three multiplayer to help with this problem. Again thank u.

This video was helpful. I am having a little trouble filling my 3 placer with wax. It doesn't seem to last very long. I am using the wax that came with my painting, which is the red square of wax. Do you have tips for filling the tips or cleaning the tips?
@tinyworldsofwonder
3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Kim! I have the same struggle with the pink wax! I switched to PaddyWaxx (sold on Etsy), and that lasts longer for me. I have also hear that people really like Blue Tack. (The stuff you use to hang posters on the wall.)
Great video, definitely picked up some valuable tips. I am curious - I just bought some paddywax and while I like it, it seems like sometimes the diamonds stick to the wax better than the painting! I'm working on a diamond club painting, and just wondered if you had any ideas. Thanks!

Hi there! I have the same problem on occasion. Sometimes my PaddyWaxx is more sticky than my glue - especially some poured glue! I like to get the wax a little “dirty” by dabbing it onto my scrubby old jeans or sweatpants, or in place of that a cotton cloth works too. This seems to take a little bit of the tack off. 😀

Hi, Maree! Sorry for my tardy reply. I found this one on Amazon. Sadly I don't think the exact model is available from the original store anymore, but there are several others there that might be worth a try. This is the A4 size. :)

Hi, Ricki! I use PaddyWaxx super sticky in my single placer and regular PaddyWaxx in my multi-placers. :)
I struggle with multi placing rounds, any tips please?
@tinyworldsofwonder
3 жыл бұрын
Me too! I think angling the pen and lining up the drills against the tray ridges helps, but I find that the larger space between round drills makes them more difficult to multiplace well. I often have to go in and adjust one by one with my single placer. Rolling down top to bottom helps too! 🥰
Silly question: When I’m doing a round drill canvas, should I have gaping?
@tinyworldsofwonder
3 жыл бұрын
Not silly, Lisa! Yes, you will have gaps around all your circles on a round, and that is normal. :)
Could you tell me what brand of wax you use?

Hi, Nicky! I have a video on my channel on how I seal canvases if you feel like looking through past videos just a bit. :) I typically don't seal if I'm framing my paintings behind glass, but that video goes into detail on the method I use when I do. :) I hope it helps!

Do you do different sections with multiple trays and drills or do you do one color at a time for the whole canvas. I'm new and it's taking forever it's seems to do one painting.
@tinyworldsofwonder
Жыл бұрын
Hi, Carrie! I usually do one section at a time and complete all the colors in that area. There are a lot of color changes, but since I don't have a dedicated work space, I end up having to pack up my stuff really often. :) I've definitely gotten faster with time.

Do you have tips on popping drills?
@tinyworldsofwonder
3 жыл бұрын
Those are just the worst, aren't they? I luckily haven't had many canvases with popping drills. I had one and it frustrated me so much that ended up giving up on it! :( On that canvas, I did try a thick coat of Mod Podge Super Gloss, and it seemed to keep the drills in place although I lost some of the sparkle.
Hi! Where can I get plastic tips? Thank you Dianna 🙂

Hi, Dianna! I would try Etsy or Amazon. Amazon is probably cheaper but may require you to purchase all kinds of bundled stuff you don't need. :)
