I love hearing you communicate with your team. I taught Sunday school this morning and shared a meal with my daughters family at her homestead, and played a board game with her two children. Being a grand-paw sure is tough. Lord bless

Mr. Odom, I’m grateful to hear you speak about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I too have had to deal with some of the same issues as you Mr. Odom. Seeing you work with your team in the woods brings me peace in remembering and not ever forgetting how hard my grandma worked to raise a garden to help feed her family. Your mules are a beautiful creation by God. All Animals have a special place in my heart. I believe that when they die God sends them to live with him. Maybe I’m wrong but they are his beautiful creation and he loves them.

I saw a beautiful pair of Belgium cross mules the other day at Haste Draft Horses and Mules. I like draft horses, but there's just something about mules that I like them a little more. Another interesting video. Thank you

Being one with the mules also helps keep you calm The lord knew what He was doing when He created animals its nice to see you working them and how they pay attention to you its also nice to see how you are not tearing up the land with huge machines those mules leave a small footprint in the woods be safe and God bless

I wish my brother & his wife had internet available so they could watch your videos. My brother & my Dad had a matching pair of mules. My brother's friend has a matched pair of mules & he would hirch them to a wagon & ride around the country roads. My brother's friend passed away from cancer so I don't know what happened to the mules. By the way we live in S. E. Tennessee a little town called Etowah.

Your mules are eager to pull, and are also willing to stand. You had me worried when you stood between the two logs when moving forward at 18:24 or so. But then you know what you are doing!

I grew up plowing and logging with mules. Was driving my own at age 10 (I was 5'10" at that age....was 6' and 200 pound at 12....doing a mans work....bigger than any man in the camp) More kids need to spend summers on the farms and WORK instead of faces stuck in a phone lying on their azz. We'd be a better country

Ok Zach... I'm a.bicycle instructor and many of my trainees are Muslim women. I feel that many of my trainees secretly wish they could escape their religion (taking up cycling is a tiny rebellion) but the Church in England is afraid to reach out to them. Big ask? I think the church in England needs lots of prayers

I think Christian’s today as a whole are scared to reach out to anyone these days. Maybe weakness? Maybe just shy…there is a lot of scrutiny out there these days for a lot of things and especially Christian’s. I will def pray for the Church of England though. The world as a whole, even here in the states, the Christian church is lacking. IMHO of course. We’ve taken a back seat for far too long. Thank you ma’am for watching and also reaching out. Very interesting watching your video does not do justice to all the little things that you do extra to get the job done, now with the question are you mules broke enough that you could use just voice command once they start for the yarding area, I'm glad I'm retired that I have the time to watch, thank you.

Yes, you are correct! There is a lot of little things that has to be done in order to keep this operation moving. As far as my mules, being broken enough… Go back a few months and watch the video. I think it was called old school, logging methods or something like that. I was working them ground skidding. And they went by themselves, and I was able to talk to them. But yes, they will listen to voice! Thank you for always watching, and I am glad you have the time too! I really appreciate it. Take care, and as always do come again, please!

Zach, do you ever have odd cuts that are of no value at the mill? I would like to buy from you hardwood suitable for firewood. I'm not commercial. It is for my home fireplace. I have a 28' trailer and my farm truck to haul it if you can load it with the skid steer. Davis Chase

Yes, I could fix you up I am sure. The job we’re on right now wouldn’t work out to good just because you can’t really get a truck and trailer in where the actual timber is. But there is plenty here beside my house on the previous job we worked. It’s piled up but wouldn’t be too hard to get some out and load. Only thing is, I’d need to get the skid steer back at the house. Really would just depend on how much ya would want. But I am sure we could cover you up. Hey there! For what we can legally and physically haul on it, it’s not needed. Another thing is, we need to be able to get close to our timber as animal loggers and a dead axle, imho of course, will keep you stuck every time you go thru a low spot or over a hump. The best thing is a live tandem with walking beam suspension. It follows the ground well and goes pretty good with the all the wheels pulling. When the time is right, I will just spend the money and get a true tandem with a small diesel in it. We can then get half again more timber on the truck legally and safely. And do it economically as well with the diesel. These old gas trucks are good for what they are…but they’ll always be just that. And this truck to be a good tandem would need more gearing. A 13 speed transmission is typical. If we just stayed on the road a lot with it, then the dead axle would be fine. But still for what we could haul, you really don’t need it.
