Muhammad Ali: The Fight that Shook up the World (1964)

Спорт

Here is my mini-documentary that I edited together from all manner of separate clips surrounding this unforgettable event in sports history, which shook the world and catapulted a young Muhammad Ali- then known as Cassius Clay- to world fame, becoming the most recognizable figure on the planet during the span of his incredible career.

@Wolf Man are you stupid? fraser was the hardest hitter in heavyweight history, Ali lost the first fight because Ali didnt box for 4 years at the time that is 1 and 2 the judges were biased because Ali won that fight as fraser went to the hospital for 1 month to recover when Ali didnt, Ali layed more punishment and lost....then he beat him twice, you have shavers, his hits were dynamites, watch shavers vs Ali and you can see how hard this man hit. Modern boxers are trash compared the 1960s, 1960s was the most competitive boxing era of all time so i donno wtf you are talking about...

@Wolf Man today's heavyweights cannot do anything against Ali. Today the fastest and the most powerful puncher is Deontay Wilder, and he has no chance against Ali. Also, Iron Mike, Lennox Lewis etc cannot beat him in prime. Just think about the power of Sonny Liston, Foreman, Norton, Shavers, Frazier. Today's boxers cannot beat any of them

My dad use to tell me stories of how smart and witty and how funny Ali was. And how would play practical jokes on the kitchen staff, the thing that my dad pointed out about Ali was as funny as he was he was a serious sober man who had a good meal and a soda and never touched a drop of alcohol and took his professional Boxing career very seriously. Everyone in that restaurant refereed to Muhammad Ali by one name The Champ ! When I look back at Ali's boxing career it was an event bigger than Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Could Ever Be !!! He'd go to Listons house, take a loudspeaker and wake Liston up in the middle of the night taunting him, toying with him to a fight. And Liston was a dangerous criminal man with ties you don't wanna face. Liston was a BAAAAD BIG MAN. He put fear in those guys. Simply amazing at his courage, his belief, his fearless attitude. Whatever, but if ur comfortable thinking that you"ll enter the "pearly gates" with God waiting for you on the other side in all "his" majestic glory thats your privilige but if you do beleive that then ask yourself this; What will you do there? Because you"ll be spending the rest of eternity there so there must be something meaningful to fill your "time" or existence with right? Nobody has an answer to that question and if you ask your local minister all you"ll get is a gibberish meaningless answer believe me, I"ve asked quite a few of them and others.Or maybe ur an atheist and believe in nothing but total oblivion but whatever you believe I hope it works out for you

Dont forget, ali can go a full 15 rounds and still be dancing. The man had impeccable stamina, durability, hand/foot work speed, and he studied his fighters before fights. I like tyson too but ali would have picked tyson round by round with them jabs. Tyson would be coming at him which what ali would expect. Then from rounds 7 to 12(since there's no more 15 rounds) ali would turn up landing big numbers for the scorecards. If Ali sees a chance, he would go for the knockout, but with tyson, it won't be easy to find. Also ali can take a punch. Ali would let Tyson punch himself out. If Tyson fatigue out, ali will deliver scoring big.

Tyson couldn't even beat an out of prime Ali.. the Ali that came back from the 3½ year ban and fought Frazier, that Ali was NOTHING like prime Ali.. so if an out of prime Ali can beat Tyson.. just imagine a prime Ali.. Tyson would hit prime Ali an average of twice per round. Prime Ali's game plan would be to dance for 9 rounds and KO a tired Tyson in round 10.. but in retrospect.. we know Tyson would go down in round 7.

Ana Costellano Agreed. People talk like Ali-tyson would be a great fight. I don't think tyson would even challenge a prime Ali. Ali proved multiple times that he can fight hard punchers like tyson. One of Ali's greatest skills was his ability to frustrate his opponent and get into their heads. Tyson on the other hand was a fight prone to frustration. Ali was simply too smart, too fast, had too much heart and is simply too good at fighting fighters like Tyson for Tyson to even stand a chance.

Ana Costellano ali never fought a fighter with the speed and Power as Tysons, u might say joe Frazier or sonny liston but neither of them were as explosive as Tyson and did not throw combinations as fast and explosive as tyson, but this is the fight game anything can happen

040yeah Actually! Tyson fought guys who've had similar fighting styles to Ali. Terrell Biggs for example. He actually did am excellent job keeping Tyson at bay with his footwork and long range combinations up until the third round. He just lacked the endurance to keep out up for the entire fight. He got tired than went toe to toe with Tyson. That mistake was why he lost. Ali on the other hand would have kept it up the whole fight. Ali had crazy endurance along with a good chin.

@@kurtpatterson8234 . Your constant dumb responses make me believe you are either stupid or very young. ( Perhaps both) . Sonny Liston the Tyson of that time. He was considered to be a really bad dude. Cassius Clay was an unknown boxer and to the extent he was known it was as a light heavyweight in the Olympics. The only reason he got to fight Liston was because he made such a spectacle at public events like restaurants. The news found him newsworthy because of his antics. In addition, people had a mindset more on line with " The silent Hero image. Clay was seen as a loud mouth braggart. Furthermore, boxing was dying at this time and there was even talk of outlawing it because of several deaths in the ring. Clay was seen rightly as a means of turning that movement around. Clay got the idea of acting outrageous by a wrestler named Gorgeous George. ( A white man by the way) Clay was hated by many but also loved by the more rebellious types. You either hated him or loved him There was no in between. Also, I could talk about how colleges teaching post modernism crap affected the way how many people now view the world but I'm getting bored. The point is nobody talked about not supporting Clay for the reason you state.

That was spot on, and not the slightest bit insulting when taken in the right way....although one could add "BSer" and not be off either. I say that with love. He could back up the substance of his boasts, but he was obviously fuller of hot air than the Hindenberg- to his intelligently calculated advantage. He brought every weapon he had, including all the tactics his mind could dream up, and there's no reason he shouldn't have.
