Fun fact, the writers strike was around 2008, and so trash reality became HUGE. Then they realised how cheap it was to made. I reckon they gave some actors from the local improv show some lunch and $20 and then made this show..

Yeah, they’re also presented in a really wacky way. It’s not like they’re picking up big businessmen and models and treating them like they’re a huge deal. Although racist and sexist, it’s somewhat nice to see no one person being the focus for too long or some people being presented in a worse way than others in this kind of TV show. Everyone’s kind of a douche and imperfect in these shows, and everyone’s also a douche to each other. Which is probably a more accurate representation of humanity.

While I don't wish Americans acted like this, I kinda *do* wish they acted like this at the same time. It would be much more interesting. Lol.

Jesus the Keanu statement just reminded me so much of how uncool it was to like Keanu Reeves in the early/mid 2000s, and how vindicated I felt when the rest of the world realized that he’s awesome

I haven't even finished the intro yet, but i just wanna say, i also used to watch this a lot back in the days when it was on MTV and i have to admit that show was like one of my first exposures to gay/queer people 🙈 im queer myself, so i wonder if that show helped me start questioning my own sexuality because it showed me that 2 men can be dating and that that's totally normal :3 the show itself was tacky, but I'm kinda grateful i grew up with it
