mTOR Pathway and its Regulation
Previous Video
AKT/PKB Signalling Pathway :
• PI3k/AKT/mTOR Pathway
In this video we will be discussing about the mTOR Pathway.
mTOR links with other proteins and serves as a core component of two distinct protein complexes, mTOR complex 1 and mTOR complex 2, which regulate different cellular processes. In particular, as a core component of both complexes, mTOR functions as a serine/threonine protein kinase that regulates cell growth, cell proliferation, cell motility, cell survival, protein synthesis, autophagy, and transcription. As a core component of mTORC2, mTOR also functions as a tyrosine protein kinase that promotes the activation of insulin receptors and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptors.[12] mTORC2 has also been implicated in the control and maintenance of the actin cytoskeleton.
mTOR Complex 1 (mTORC1) is composed of mTOR, regulatory-associated protein of mTOR (Raptor), mammalian lethal with SEC13 protein 8 (mLST8) and the non-core components PRAS40 and DEPTOR.This complex functions as a nutrient/energy/redox sensor and controls protein synthesis. The activity, insulin, growth factors, phosphatidic acid, certain amino acids and their derivatives (e.g., l-leucine and β-hydroxy β-methylbutyric acid), mechanical stimuli, and oxidative stress....

It takes massive amount of research to firstly understand this concept.. Then simplify it,is another challenge Then making such brilliant drawings is yet another big challenge And finally completing the video... Wow wow wow...this is huge amount of work u put in ..i guess to make this single video, atleast 7 to 10 days have to be spent... U R GREAT. ....

Yes, buddy..It takes lot of efforts and a time to put in this kind of concentrated video... ( this took me 7 days ) thanks for appreciation ...
I can not believe how simple you made this considering it’s so complex to understand let along explain!! Bravo 👏thank you !! I wish you much success in your career

Hi Shabir! Another amazing and fascinating animation!!! I love it 😊💖💗. More lock and keys 🔓 🔑. Of course it just adds to my confusion 🤔 of how on earth 🌎🌏 did this happen? From elements to thousands of complicated and uniquely functioning polypeptides. But today I'd like to focus on my appreciation 💗 to you for reporting on these byzantine cellular processes and to the research scientists 🔬 in all the labs across the world who brilliantly decode and decipher these complex processes. It is beyond amazing that people like you and your peers can go in a lab, invent an experiment, and trace these polypeptide pathways down to which amino acid is phosphorylated and which part of the protein is then bent or twisted to achieve its purpose--allowing all of us to live--including my 2 English golden retrievers 🐕🐶 (Chuck & Bert). Bravo 👍👏👏🙌🙌!!
