My friends are the good deckbuilders... i only play casually with them like I'm the special Ed kid because I build desks like hydras and Gorgons... and haven't bought a physical card since rivals of ixalan or the set with 5 cmc teferi. I want modern to do well, especially white because I have a play set of anointed procession sitting here doing nothing lmao

​@tomfrost6049 not to rain on the parade, but the shift required for Anointed Procession to be modern viable would need to be extreme. The format just seems too fast for a 4 drop that you can't cheat in, doesn't greatly affect the board state when it enters, and doesn't winthe game if you get to untap with it. I'd love a modern world where that is competitive, but I think it will have to settle for being a Commander staple, for now

Modern ot commander, matters not to me! Along as they ain't reprinting it before I can sell it off! I got some pre-cons for playing with my mates, but at my age it's not like we ever get the chance to play together anyway.... so I live vicariously through this channel.

I so missed elves being a playable archetype ;-;

MTGO is like your great grandfather who was a math prodigy, but also had dementia.

The game against Affinity was interesting, since, when you pop-off with Elves, each one basically gives you extra mana and card-draw, so you keep popping off! You essentially out-affinitied Affinity!

I played something like this back when Shards block was in standard. Instead of symbiote, I was using cloudstone curio which worked great. So seeing you play this brought me back to that time in my life.

Indeed! Through the power of Prophet Potato, I'd say MH3 looks really GOOD! It definitely does *NOT* feel like the set is trying to one up MH2, but rather, it seems to want to reel in the power of noncreature decks! We even get a 1-mana Void Mirror! 🤫😉

As a long time viewer I just wanted to post and say how much I enjoy your content, cracks me up every time. Many of your decks have inspired others over the years and influenced Modern in ways you don't get sufficient credit for (humans case in point)! Also prefer your commentary style these days... don't listen to the haters, fight the good fight! Can I ask as to Prophet Potatoes confidence level on Big Bird, and the way its worded?

Plague Engineer might have legs if you’re looking to target elves. Also works well against the norin/satoru humans lists that have been moving around lately.

Knew someone who had entered our *modern* tournament with wirewoods in their 75. It wasn't until round 3 when the opponent realized that the elves player was on a non legal list. 😅

Wouldn't symbiote work well with Rite of Harmony and Mirror Entity if you splash white instead of black?

Rite of Harmony (and the "Beck" half of Beck//Call) are 2-mana versions of Glimpse of Nature, which is banned in Modern because a very similar elves shell meant you'd win on T3 pretty consistently. Two mana is a lot more than one (Lightning Bolt is modern playable, Lightning Strike is not) so, while people have tried Beck and Rite of Harmony, the consensus is that black for Shaman of the Pack (which lets you kill without combat) and sideboard cards is the way to go.

I know the magic potato is all knowing, but man I wish it was wrong sometimes… I’m not excited to redo all my modern decks just to accommodate these potato cards. That being said, it’s great to see elves be good again!

Genuinely watching these matches just sitting here thinking "but nah splinter twin is too strong"
