There has been a "sequel". You can see what happens on her trip on Zendikar if you look at the Planeswalker comics on the Magic the Gathering Website.

I think Nicol Bolas deserves a lore video, especially since he seems to pop up in so many stories of different planes walkers.

they gave her "cannot be countered" on her latest card - Chandra, Awakened Inferno - which is great against blue... perhaps something more that counters or goes against black and blue... > an emblem that says, "whenever your opponents draw a card besides the one during their draw step, this emblem deals 1 damage to them" > or emblem, "whenever a creature you control dies or is returned to your hand by an opponent's ability or spell, this emblem deals 5 damage to that opponent"

Oh god Chandra is my absolute favorite. Im currently building a Chandra themed EDH deck. When I say themed I mean actual themes, like.. Cards with quotes from her, or depicting her and all of her planeswalker cards. Filling the rest with fire-related cards.

I have all the chandras with fire of kaladesh as my commander and all her flavored spells save for pyromancers gauntlet and act on impulse and then flame related creatures. was thinking about picking up a nova chaser for her since he works beautifully with a chandras eruption especially with a furnace of rath.

+wolfdwarf Even have jaya Ballard and chandras parents for flavors sake. it's really fun to play especially since I can flip my commander with 2 spells. if she can stay out her last ability is KILLER in EDH.

These are a god send. So informative and interesting! I love Magic but never got into the lore at all.

and since she has a connection with Nissa, an emblem that says, "whenever you tap a non-mountain land or non-red source for mana, you gain that mana plus 1 red mana to your mana pool" or +1: You gain X red mana until the end of your next upkeep equal to any non-combat damage dealt to opponents this turn"

My Chandra design would be somthing along the lines of Mana cost, RRRRR (What better to blow shit up with?) +1 Blow shit up -2 Blow more shit up -6 Blow all the shit up. Starting loyalty: Doesn't matter, their shit has already been blown up.

I really like your lore videos. I found them on accident trying to find a comprehensive source of mtg lore since I stopped reading the books after mirodin. I would love if you just kept doing planeswalker lore, cause its hard to find much on the wizards website without buying all the books and the planeswalker videos you've posted are great. I would really like eslbeth and Nicol bolas, cause so far I've only seen them in other planeswalker arcs and I really want to know more about their stories. Unless you e already done them and I'm missing them somehow

ayy three years further and here are some corrections: 0:43 Kaladesh 0:46 mother: Pia Nalaar 0:46 father: Kiran Nalaar this is what the Magic Origins Player's Guide origin storie of Chandra says: Raised by her parents who were known for finding inventive ways around the oppression of the consults of her home plane of Kaladesh, Chandra Nalaar proudly considered herself an outlaw. When she was finally allowed to smuggle her first mythical AEther shipment, Chandra knew it would be the best day of her life. She carried the concealed canisters through the streets of Ghirapur, a bustling city overflowing with talented aero divers and countless fanciful inventions. Before Chandra could reach the handoff location, she was cornered and questioned by Captain Baral and his soldiers. Her blood boiled at the thought of her first delivery ending in failure, and in her anger something unexpected happened: Chandra's hands burst into flame, and she cast her first fire spell. Though she had not known it, Chandra was a pyromancer. In the confusion that followed, Chandra escaped and dove for cover in one of the consuls' foundries. There, she was pursued and attacked by a legion of the consuls' automatons, and with no other way out, she was forced to use her pyromancy again. This time, her fire raged out of conteol, and she accidentally destroyed the entire foundry. In the aftermath, Chandra and her parents were forced to flee Ghirapur for the sanctuary of the countryside, but they were followed. Captain Barack set fire to a nearby village, determined to frame Chandra so that her punishment could stand as an example for others who might rebel against the consuls. When Chandra's father attempted to intervene, Captain Baral took his life. Chandra also lost track of her mother during the blaze, and upon seeing the utter destruction of the village, believed she too must have died. Grief-stricken and in chains, Chandra was returned to Ghirapur to be executed. She nearly resigned herself to her fate, but in the desperate moment before the executioner swung is blade, Chandra's Planeswalker spark ignited, unleashing an inferno and blasting her out of Kaladesh and onto the plane of Regatha On Regatha, Chandra encountered the monks of Keral Keep, pyromancers who accepted and embraced her. The monks thought her to channel her impulses and master her gift. Chandra has accepted the training, but being her parents' child, she will always rebel against authority. Great lore! It should be noted, considering its frequent use, that "casted" is not a word. The past tense of cast is "cast." I can cast a spell today, and yesterday I cast the same spell. Same word, different tenses. Let's not proliferate bad English. ; )

Chandra will go classic +1 deal one damage to a target. Maybe a -2 lightening bolt. Her -4 could be like 4 damage to all opponents or creatures maybe?

"That game has a story?"... I had it with some people on in game chat in ff14 about my grievance with how some look down on others for wanting to watch story cutscenes in major Dungeons and the like. One random person said 'There's a story?" I can't help but feel that this individual should be smacked silly for that remark because we are talking about a Final Fantasy game, there's always a story and I wanted to watch it as it unfolded. There is a part early on where your given free use of an inn room as a reward and within there is a book which logs your adventure and main cutscenes, I do not care for this for the most part as it has no major purpose for me. I'm just fine following the story as originally intended! On the part of this video, I recall seeing Chandra before, she's definitely my kind of girl. I'm suddenly thinking of returning to magic. Sounds like she can relight me fire for the game! ;3

And deals 2 damage to you. -1 sacrifice a mountain summon a 3/3 dragon with haste deal 2 damage to you. -4 for each red creature you control search your library graveyard and hand for a red instant or sorcery spells who's total red symbols in their costs are equal to or less than the total red mana symbols of creatures u control. You may cast these spells without paying their mana costs.

my would be 1 colorless 3 red loyalty 5 +1 create flying 4/2 red phoenixes the die at the beginning of your next end step -3 deal 5 damage to target player or creature, if the creature dies exile it instead -8 exile all permanents and exile your hand, target player reveals the top 8 cards of the library and may cast those with out paying their mana cost.

Ahh!!!! why isn't there a movie of this!!!!! I love the originals! my first time playing magic was on my Xbox in early 2014... played the 2013 mtg with these original avatars.

They are from a duels of the planeswalker game, you are correct. I believe these came from 2014. I have it in the description :)

No, its a capitol one Venser card.

So after Origins came out the only things that stayed the same are the fact that her name is Chandra and she had met Jace and Gidion. Gotcha.

Worth noting that Chandra's Mother is Pia Nalaar.

+lan Drew use both i used chandra ablaze and firebrand ass well as sarkin,koth and other chandras like pyromancer and the duel deck one vs jace! I dont get why jace and chandra fight at the beginning and just so you know she is my fav planeswalker! She has a spark that went off when she killed the village and her family! at that time she came chandra ablaze she became eggro! My mom chose elspeth and I believe my dad has no planeswalker he could have jace and if he does idk what kind of jace! I think Chandra is the best she is so awesome and i think its sad for her to not control herself and made her kill her family!!

Might be from Magic 2014 - Duels of the Planeswalkers. The campaign in this game focusses on the Chandra vs Ramaz struggle.

Easily my favorite card.

Chandra is my favorite Planeswalker. Looking into her backstory, I have to say, it's a little underwhelming.

Production suggestion: Don't use card images from Gatherer. Those ugly white corners detract from the obvious work you've put on production. Square edges are always better. Also, do some digging and see if you can find the cart art images without the frames. The Public Execution axe animation was smart, but if it had just been the axe art itself, it would have looked much nicer. The concept's interesting, so keep at it.

Too bad she didn't get any new abilities in 2015.

This video was quite informative, but try to use just the art from the cards and not the card frames. It makes immersion more difficult. Especially when you change the name of the card.

Is it wrong to imagine Chandra as being hot? I don't think the artists do her justice sometimes.
