Mt. Taranaki: the kiwi fuji
Mount Taranaki is the second highest mountain in the North Island of New Zealand. It is a volcano and a Mount Fuji look-a-like, don't you think?
If you go for a little walk up, you'll get the best views, as you can see in this video. It is about two hours up (perfect for the lazy people under us) and you get a cute little tarn and some picture perfect reflections.

+Courageously Free Travelers Oh, you're going to love it! It is quite cool to drive to New Plymouth and see Mt Taranaki already on your left hand side! (If there are no clouds..). But the walk in my video is definitely a good one to have a look up close! Have fun!!

awesome. we're in new plymouth now. perhaps this week while we're here we'll head over. just sold the car last week, but maybe family will be happy to take us.. hahaha cheers!

the view at 0:45 was beautiful, I'm planning to go on November, is there any bus we can catch up from Wellington to egmont national park?

It really does look a lot like Mt. Fuji. Although the terrain seems quite different. Where were you hiking to get this view?
