This is from the first few months of the newly merged and re-named Comedy Central as of June 1, 1991, after the ill-fated run as CTV: The Comedy Network.
Aired August 9, 1991 at 10:00 am.

Whoever found this old recorded from TV VHS tape and ripped it, Thank you. I love it when they leave the commercials in. Makes it more real. Vintage TV and Vintage commercials equals vintage experience.

This was literally the first episode of MST3K that I watched after finding Comedy Central while sifting through my satellite tv channels! This REALLY takes me back! Feels like yesterday!
back when we used to actually tape the original episodes we would edit these crappy commercials out! now everyone is all nostalgic about them
Thanks for the broadcast edition. This is one of the best episodes. The villain is in Rocky IV “whatever he hits he destroys.” And Rommel played by Ross Hagen is what Mount Hagen in Red Dead Redemption II is named after. Hagen voiced Landon Ricketts in the original Red Dead Redemption.
There is not a single likeable character in this movie huh...

Wow, 1991. A whole nother world. We did not even have Comedy Central on our cable system then.
There's something incredibly poetic about youtube copyright muting the song right at "Take My Breath Awaaaa-" [silence]. I mean I guess they WERE asking you to.
The commercial at 40:55 promises an episode of MST during the August 18 "History of Comedy" marathon. It's not accounted for on the MST3K Temple broadcast list but, digging through some online news archives, it looks like 201 may have been shown during the marathon.

MST 3000 is one of the funniest shows ever. Joel was the best host. Lol Star Trek. What this tree ? Oh come on Jerry !! Anita looks like Susan Oliver.
Chili peppers burn my gut
First time I ever saw the word "Othello", I was like 7 and the only word I knew that looked similar was "other". Guess how dumb little me thought "OTH-ell-o" was pronounced. On a darker note, I don't know how I feel about the movie. Am I supposed to think the lady's a hero for trying to get out of an abusive relationship or a villain for tricking her abusive boyfriend into beating up the guy who spurned her?
This would not be out of place on ESPN's .......THE OCHO.
