MSR Windburner Duo and skillet Review. PLUS Breakfast!

My scaled down/minimal car camping kitchen is complete with the addition of the windburner skillet. The heat transfer was great and it make a pretty excellent breakfast sandwich.
I got both items on sale, but if you like to camp a lot and eat good food, they're well worth it.

That salt is going to wear your pans coating down over time. I recommend seasoning while plated. I didn’t know this for years until I was told by a friend. Anyways great vid! 👍🏼

That system works great, and that skillet really is no-stick, which is awesome. That'll make clean-up really quick and simple. Thanks for the demo!

Awesome video! I plan on backpacking so I think I'm going to get the solo version but I'm definitely getting that skillet for it.

I think MSR should mark the regulator handle for different heat settings, simmer, low, med, high. I am looking at this setup, currently use the jetboil minimo with skillet and like the can and regulator off to the side better.

WHY? do MSR sell individual pots and pans with a bulky ‘heat exchanger’ attached? Would it not be easier, lighter and more compact to just have one heat exchanger attached to the stove head?? What am I missing???

Fantastic review man, that sandwich looks delicious! I’m considering the wind burner model. Question, can you remove the big metal cup and just place the skillet on top of the burner?

Does the stove adjust well down to low heat? Simmering?

I have a 1L Windburner stove system. Do you happen to know if the 1L stove also fits the pan? It’s been a little unclear looking online. My girlfriend wants to do more cooking and less boiling water/rehydration meals while backpacking.

Check out the FAQ section in the windburner skillet page. It says that they're compatible and it seems like the only this not compatible is the large pot. Have a look there and see for yourself. I cannot say from personal experience though if they 100% work.

he said "not great for backpacking". come on man dont do the windburner like that. drop a pound of gear to make room for the stove weight.

No discussion of slow cooking things. Not every session is just boiling water. Tell us about slow cooking to avoid an incomplete review.

He's literally just cooked sausage and eggs. You're not going to be cooking a roast chicken.
