I am a huge fan of the personal and duo versions of the Windburner stove system by MSR, so when I got the larger size it had a lot to live up to. It didn't disappoint either, as I also love the larger system as well. Now that I own all 3 sets, I can honestly say that MSR did a great job in the creation of these stove systems!

Nice review. I just picked up the group system to complement the single and duo I already own. It turns out that the group pot is designed to be less efficient in heat transfer to allow flames and heat to spread for cooking and simmering on low. You will notice the rings on the personal and duo pots have a smaller ring designed fit inside the burner ring, plus a large number of heat sink fins on the bottom for max heat transfer and efficiency for quick water boiling. By contrast, the large pot is designed differently with a wider ring designed to fit on the outside of the burner, larger air holes, and no heat sink fins. That’s the theory anyway - having just purchased the group system, I’ve not tried cooking in the pot yet. It definitely has a different heat transfer bottom. The single and duo are extremely efficient and boil quickly! One can cook in them, but only by boiling water, turning it off, adding the food, stirring, then let the food ‘cook’ in the hot water with the lid on. Works well for pasta sides and mashed potatoes with whatever, but I’d not try to cook or heat something up in them for sure.

Do you think these would sit on the whisperlite well?

Will the frying pan fit the single wind burner?
