Missing your videos and hope all is well! There have been so many updates recently, any chances for an updated VR settings video?

Dude!! I love your blogs! You are the only one consistently talking about clarity when everyone is talking about FPS. I am using a 3070ti, 12900K CPU with 64 GB of 5400 RAM and I am very happy with 35-45 FPS but as a Reverb user, the CRJ is very difficult to read MFD's and the H Jet is impossible. Keep bringing peeps clarity, my brother!

The DLSS settings were PERFECT. I’ve never had such smoothness in VR. Thank you man I’m using this for my CFI currently and it helps retain IFR skills. Appreciate the settings help.

I have rtx3080ti and varjo aero. I run the varjo on its highest setting (39 ppd), motion reprojection off, dlss, ultra performance, all settings set to ultra except water waves which is medium. Terrain is around the 150 mark (will up it and see how it goes). These settings give me a great image and is clear enough to easily read glass cockpits including the vertigo (lovely aircraft after you alter the seat position). Moving the seating position forward helps with the readability of the glass cockpit instruments as well. Anyway mate great video and great information thanks again and again.

Thank you SOOO much for doing this!!! I was really hoping you'd update your settings since there have been so many changes to the sim and the drivers lately. I'm hoping one of these settings will eliminate the "wing flapping" problem I've been experiencing! Curious as to why you're not using the Open XR toolkit companion app. Also, are you staying away from DX12 because the implementation is still in development?

Would you advise the studio or game ready driver? I have almost the same spec machine as you, however I need to use the PC for Music recording work also so I don’t want to stuff anything up! 😅 thanks for the really helpful setup video. Really appreciated.

Saved this one for a more in depth look. I've never been happy with my G2 performance in MSFS2020 VR. Really finnicky, multiple, separate settings to co-ordinate, trial and error on SS and others plus a real good graphics card is required to use it without stutter. 5600X O'C 4.8Ghz liquid cooled, RTX3070ti, 64GB DDR4 PC3600. BUT, using my Valve Index is literally plug and play. I can ramp it up to like 170/180 SS in Sim settings either ultra or high and it's now just wonderful. It's true, the smoother the overall experience appears to our brains, the easier it is for us to accept the images quality as it passes by.

excellent video, copied what you showed for the ingame graphics settings and it is very smooth for my system Reverb G2, i7 10700F RTX 3070

Settings seemed to be pretty good. I do notice a little bobble head movement thing going on in the cockpit. Do you know if this is related to any specific settings? It’s not like shutter or shimmy but more of a bounce.

Got a G2 coming and decided to upgrade from my 2070 Super to a 4070ti hopefully it all works well together. Not going to upgrade my 3700x yet.

Hi @PIEINTHESKYTOURS Can you clarify, I know you are getting a good MR experience but does for example the menu system still experience the jitter that plagued MR? I feel like my MR experience is good but I think people are not necessarily sure if they have reached the same satisfaction level you have. For example I can still get distortions at the bottom of the cockpit window, where the view outside passes below the window pane as it were, as if MR is incorrectly predicting a blend where there is supposed to be a separation. Thx

If I may share my results... The TAA setup looks outstanding, but fps will drop if I have any weather other than clear skies... Meanwhile the DLSS setup is amazing! Testing at a custom airport (KTVL) I threw every weather preset I had at it, and fps never dropped below 45 except for a second after switching weather. Once in the air it got even better: 50fps in a torrential downpour, and 60fps with thick clouds (DNBOF - Atmospheric)... and this was all while running the FSLTL injector as well! If I'm not mistaken we have comparable setups: 3080ti, R7 5800X3D, 32G ram (@3200), Reverb G2, DX11... the only notable difference is that I *do* run the OXR Toolkit, and I'm currently on the SU11 beta. With the toolkit, I get back much of the clarity I lose with DLSS. The only thing I can't easily read in the cockpit is the smallest text. Larger letters and numbers are pretty clear. Great job with these settings! I'll be using them for a while!

The DLSS only works for me with direct x12 and vsync off but if i do that i have thearings in my picture even when refreshrate is the same like in game only taa works for me with render set to 190 everything is photoreal but 12 Fps i have no solution.

with a quest 2 over wired link and a 3090 ti i still get a ton of micro stuttering i have a reverb g2 on the way so i will update if there is a notable difference Update: just got it working there are no micro stutters compared to the quest so over all alot smoother and alot clearer but the motion reprojection does have a bit more wobble in the cockpit but when focused on the environment there is no wobble. But far less jarring then the quest’s stuttering. overall alot better of an experience. NOTE with the 3090TI you need a display port 1.4 repeater for any wired headset to work regardless of the board partner that makes the card. Update: i found that a nvme ssd gets rid of the stuttering on quest 2 interestingly and has left me with a smoother experince than the reverb.

Does maxing out the settings and render scale at 200 in PC settings still apply to this? (from your video 1 year ago). Thank you :)

Interesting, my settings are almost exactly like yours. I have a 9900K Asus Strix RTX 2080 Ti. I fly GA a lot and my only real difference in settings which I'm a bit suprised you're not using is DLSS Quality and my OpenXR autmatic reprojection is set to 115%, the terrain level of detail I have at 150 but can probably bump that up. When I tried TAA with 90% rendering it was notiicably jerky so if I did that, I'd have to reinstall OpenXR Toolkit to compensate. For me you either go with OpenXR Toolkit or DLSS to get ultra smooth frames.

TAA at 90% resolution is definitely something my 3080 system will choke on. So I will definitely check all my other settings compared to these. I’ll be super happy if I can get the kind of smoothness I am seeing here!

After update 10 the reverb G2 would cause sum to ctd. Tried everything I could then I saw someone mention DX 12 which mine was on. Switched back to 11, hey presto all back. Unbelievable.

On the previous driver not the one that you have now going in and out of VR dropped the frame rate big time and it gets stuck between 8 and 9 FPS with stuttering and in vr is really bad stuttering unplayable so hopefully with this latest Nvidia driver you have now will help me. By the way what throttle quadrant and Controller/ stick are you using thanks buddy

Wonder why your Nvidia Control Panel is slightly different. Some settings you have that I do not. Version 522.25. I’ve noticed this over the past years. Would the gui be different in other countries?

For 2,5 month now I am trying to fix the stuttering, tearing and flickering effect when flying in VR. Also outside MSFS. For example in the Oculus desktop app the same terrible effect. Even sound is not 100% like an very old cassette tape

Several issues - in the WMR runtime I couldn't change the API setting which was set to some API where yours was set to none and your list also cut off about halfway through man videos list - I could not find or reach the hardware scheduling GPU page at all - also in the Microsoft settings page where you can find game mode among other things what about the game bar which is set to all in my settings as opposed to the game mode which is set off

Hi. Using I9 9900K with rtx 3080Ti and windows 11. Running the game with DX12 and TAA i downgrade nvidia driver because the new version broke the VR experience lots of stutering and the DLSS gives an awfull blurry image. As you say TAA stay the best for a Great clarity and a smooth experience. I don't think dlss is already for VR. Not for the moment. i think the new nvidia driver is made for the new nvidia séries 4

Unless I missed it, you don't say Dx11 or Dx12???

One weird thing both my brother and I have noticed with our rigs is that the most recent nVidia studio driver is giving us almost 10fps more than the most recent Game Ready drivers. I've flipped back and forth between both a couple times and it's pretty consistent. 5800X3D, 32GB, 3080 12GB. Running with DLSS on quality and the render scale at 100 in both the game and the OXR Toolkit.

Hello, i am troubled ... i have almost same spec than you and even with your settings i get stuck under 30 fps in vr , usually between 15 and 30 ... I don't understand 🤨. hp reverb G2 i9 10850K 64 GB ram rtx 3080 z-490 E gaming There must be a setting somewhere thats is causing problems...

@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS... good question .. the WMR is launched automatically at start of my computer. Then i just start msfs 2020. Then in the menu i put my headset and switch to VR. So i suppose SteamVR is not used I had question concerning my reverb g2. I have set it at 90hz. Is that correct ? (i tried 60hz it is little better in performance i think but it's "blinking" a little sometimes. (sorry for my english). And why is my fps always under 30 in VR ? (while not in PC mode) . I mean sometimes it seems to be able to go above 30 (in empty places) but it stays at 30. I know 30 fps is nice already but just wanna understand why i can't go above 30.

@@tiffoun21 did you ever limit the framerate to 30 in the Nvidia control panel? Some tweakers have recommended that in the past....

if I turn on the projection of the movement unfortunately for me there are too many artifacts that disturb. don't you have this problem?

Why TAA instead of dlss? It's kind of a no brainer, right?

Are you on windows 10 or 11?

What is the wattage capacity of you power Unit?

i got a 4090 and a 13900k... Can't get more than 50-55fps on my G2 :( Why the game is so CPU bottlenecked? And what settings affect the cpu? My 4090 is chilling most of the time...

Hi, I’m just about ready to give up on ms2020 because I have really bad stuttering with every setting that I have tried so far. My rig is 12th gen i7, rtx3090, 32gbram, 1tb ssd. Reverb g2 v2. I have tried for weeks and can’t seem to get anywhere with anything. I have tried numerous reinstalls even reinstalled windows 11 and still get terrible stutters. It was working very well during su9. After su10, it all went to crap. Before I throw this all in the bin I thought I would ask you for your thoughts. Cheers, Karl.

Youre not the only on i have i95900x12 32 ram and a 2070 and still everything looks blurry and washed out and if i turn on Fstl traffic with 90 planes set i get stutters and slow ground buildings i spendet 1000 Euro in new hardware and still its not getting better turn everything on middle is not what i expect from a sim of 2020

Just an idea, I was fine and then started getting hurrendous stutters, it turned out that something went wrong with the data cache as deleting it completely resolved it instantly. Apparantly this can happen when tinkering with texture densities and quality settings,i.e when you are trying lots of different things to make the game run smooth, so you end up with a mix of cached assests and things can go wrong. This perhaps isn't your problem, but for me when it hit the symptoms were so bad that I thought there was something very wrong with my system.

Vielleicht hast du das gleiche Problem ? Dank der Updates von Win 11 konnte ich es aber so lösen. Ich betreibe nun eine 4090/13900K/32GB DDR5 5600. Das Spiel läuft unfassbar adhnell in VR. Ich teste aber trotzdem gerade viele Settings : DLLS vs. TAA und weiter Einstellungen wie OXR Und OXRTK. Leider habe ich noch Hardwarebedingt das Zittern des Cockpit was durch die G2 ( Kabel / Software ) ausgelöst wird. Hi ! I'll try it in German: Can it be that you're already "stuttering" in the WMR space? Then I have a tip for you: Install all optional and new normal updates for WIN 11. I had the same problem after reinstalling my new computer: Many have previously solved the problem using the console command "logman stop HolographicShell -ets". Maybe you have the same problem ? Thanks to the updates from Win 11 I was able to solve it this way. I am now running a 4090/13900K/32GB DDR5 5600. The game runs incredibly smooth in VR. But I'm still testing a lot of settings: DLLS vs. TAA and other settings like OXR and OXRTK. Unfortunately, I still have the hardware-related trembling of the cockpit, which is triggered by the G2 (cable / software).

Okay but with those settings it seems you can fly fast but the mountains are totaly blurry if i fly over the alps i would hate having washed up mountains i hope i find any setup for groundsharpnes and good fps i have a i95900x12 and a 2079gtx 32ram the only manko is a slow ssd card my i95900 always runs at about 3000 Mhz but it says it can run 5000 why is he always reducing cpu speed shouldnt it be possible to run fs2020 on Ultra with my setup? I think its all about the Rendering if i switch to 100 everything is Blurry if i go to 190 i have Sharp Cities but in Los Angeles with traffic and Ultra Clouds i have 15 Fps if i fly Airbus or other big planes low Fps is still flyable but not really nice but if i set other setzings down i have 40 fps but blurry scenery and ugly objects inthink tje last thing i need is a faster harddisk and faster internet because how i said switching things to medium is ugly.

I can't find the opener development tool where is that??

Im running a rtx 3080 with ryzen 7 5800x. Reverb g2. Copied your setting. Im managing 10fps with TAA and 15fps with dls...not playable at the moment. Im sure im missing something somewhere.

@@tiffoun21 If we have the Steam version of MSFS are we supposed to use SteamVR ? I too am doing what you are when I start up to fly, I am using both DLSS and openxr tool kit otherwise It is unplayable.

12700K with RTX4090 only 25fps at the airport while ready 2 takeoff. GPU% around 30%

just a note he clearly doesnt seem to know or he would have said it youre GPU is not the most importent if you have a older CPU this wont change a thing in youre preformance

Funny how EVERYONE who is making videos like this , post the video from the screen.. and everyone goes wolooooooow! But in fact video you see inside the glssses is complete shit🤦🏿‍♂️ I have thr 4090 card, overclocked, r9 7900x3d overclocked, most my settings are ultra/high and i still cant say im superhappy with result, at 80fps! even my cpu is at 50% and gpu at 85%. Somewhere you need to sacrifise either frames or sharpnesd.
