I am really enjoying travelling the world in MSFS, reliving my past. I was born in Singapore in 1955 and first flew in aircraft like the Super Constellation and DC7. I have lived in Canada, Lausanne in Switzerland, Milan in Italy and Poole in the UK. I have also lived in many places in my time in the RAF such as Gutersloh in Germany, Belize and The Falkland Islands. I am currently on a trip in the PMDG DC-6 from Singapore to Africa, the UK and Canada recreating a series of flights I did in 1958 when I was three! I am loving MSFS 🥰🇬🇧

Great video and fascinating summary of your international life! I’ve never lived outside the US but have been lucky to have spent many weeks each year in Europe, UK, and various parts of Asia for business and vacations. Japan is my favorite in part because I studied and used Japanese for many years. I’m retired now and enjoy using MSFS and VR to continue exploring this amazing planet. Thanks!

I’ve managed to visit most places in your video, though usually only for a few days at a time. I am lucky enough to be able to take my older lad with me on some trips, so he’s been able to visit our family in Singapore, as well as numerous visits to the States - more recently I took him to Tokyo again - this time he was old enough to do the go-karting around the city streets, something he’d been wanting to do since his first visit! My brother lives in Manilla, and I’ve yet to visit! Bizarrely, it’s one of the few countries we don’t fly to - though there are rumours that may change soon! 🤞🏼 I can highly recommend Chile - what a beautiful country, and I notice you didn’t mention India or any part of Africa either, all worthy of a visit at least! It’s certainly easier, and cheaper, to visit these places in VR - unless you have a job that pays you to do the travelling! 😉

Great video. I have the exact setup with both Oculus 2 and Reverb 2. Same graphics card and processor. However, with Oculus, the only time I don’t get warping effect on MSFS is if I use Virtual desktop. Even with link cable, I can’t get smooth gameplay. Microstutters all the time. I just bought the reverb, but re-boxed it and shoved it aside for now because setting it up was too frustrating. When I finally got to the sun, I had stutters on every setting. Now, even with watching this channel and others, I can never get Openxr toolkit to work for me. I spend so much time optimizing settings that I do that more than flying. I am often so frustrated.

Great video mate and what a life. I only fly vr and have the varjo too. I run the varjo at it's nighest setting (39 ppd I think it is) and dlss with performance setting and dx12 beta, all the rest are ultra or near their highest setting. My limitation is poor internet but accepting this is the cause of my stutters and some issues with the tracking of the varjo aero headset I get brilliant performance.

Any chance you can do an update to Quest 2 settings, now we have DLSS and other new settings in the latest update? Should I be using Open XR too? I have a 3080 and 5800X3D. Cheers

Congrats on your move to Tokyo Chris! I lived there 5 years from 2013-2018. Definitely a unique experience. Fun (and frustrating) days ahead 😅😁

hello , thanks for the video ; got a HP reverb G2 and i am VR fan for flying with. But , i have several questions : i have to buy a new graphic card , but 4090 worth the price ? or better wait for RTX 4080 will be sufficient ? even choose 7900 XTX ? because i ve read that DLSS3.0 wont work in VR , is it true ?

Great video. Wish I could find the cause and solution for my Meta Quest 2 wich has a endless tearing and mini stuttering effect. Also in the headset audio. As well in the Oculus app (VR desk) and in Flight Sim 2020. Struggling for two months now with it. And my system is very strong. Tried tons of potential fixes BUT NOTHING CAN FIX IT.

I've got a beast of a PC, but I've been having issues recently when switching to VR mode: it will instantly crash to desktop with no error message. Tried launching WMR before FS2020, would not solve the issue. Got all the lasted NVIDIA pilots and every updates possible.

I think I found the issue: I had DTX12 (beta) in my settings under « PC ». Came back to DTX11 and now VR Mode will launch no issue.

I have I7 11700K 32GB RAM RTX 2080TI I hope it will run msfs in VR in reasonable fps and decent quality

i got the reverb g2 and a 3070ti 13th gen i5 32GB ram about two weeks ago, but cannot seem to get the settings right. stuttering and tearing when moving head around, cockpit always seems just out of focus, very small sweet spot. then msfs runs like shit when im not using vr. uninstalled open xr whihc seemed to fix the low fps when playing on a monitor... the g2 has been in the drawer for the last week.😒

That's definitely not normal. On a monitor I've got way better performance then in VR. Also try OpenXR Toolkit, to me it made a world of difference in performance.

How lovely , BUT your flying stock aircraft that are not study level . Try the PMDG or the FBW airbus u won’t have these results !

The videos are misleading. That’s not how it actually looks like when looking through the VR lenses. HP Reverb 2 has a door screen effect. Also, colors and details are not as clear as shown in the video.
