I have had this ration. I truly believe the Dutch make the most comprehensive mre in the world. So many drinks, soups, cracker, cheese, patè, jams, chocolate, snacks, mains and 2 different bfast. Try the Nazi Goreng and Chicken Rogan. Yummo. Good review! Glad you both enjoyed it. Get after it Amanda 💪

The drinks contain vitamin mixes and they are necessary due to the lack of nutrients in the meals. We used to have actual meals but they are deemed to heavy by today's soldiers. We used to carry around the MAG with ammo and spare barrels but they can't carry a meal 🤣🤣🤣

@@jacksonteller1337 Soldiers in the airmobile or mechanised infantry course easily carry over 50kgs on their shoulders. Equipment has only gotten heavier since the introduction of plate carriers and triple sleeping setup. And I'm not even talking about the Dutch Marines or the CO/NCO Infantry course Let me give you the worst example from Infantry school: Minimi (pig) with ammo and optics is easily over 12-16kg, backpack + plate carrier = 20. Rucking bergen is at least 20kg, which gives a total of 52 (!) kg at the best. Carrying a total of 70-80kg is not unusual in the Dutch Marines or Army Infantry leadership course. If you are an AT shooter you are even more fucked. Any weight reduction in their eyes is good. I've heard and seen many guys shrinking 1-2cm's in length due to their careers because of the obsession with rucking and weight.

@@geuz186 i was a founding member of air mobile even before the helicopters were in service. The sht we carried and the marches we went on would be too much for most of the modern troops. They reduced both the requirements and the training after a while. We did a lot more with weapons and ammunition that was triple the weight of modern equipment. So don't come with your point of view unless you walked a mile in our shoes.

@@jacksonteller1337 I'm not attacking you. Respect to you for doing the 90s Airmobile course, I've heard stories that it was insanity. My point is not to attack you, I'm just stating that the current soldiers still carry a hefty burden. Personally I think that rucking and carrying super heavy burdens/forced marches are absolutely retarded (I know several guys who are early 20s with worn out cartilage in both knees, compressed discs or permanent sublaxed shoulders). So any weight reduction is good. It isn't some tough guy contest, people have to fight as effective as possible.

Hi just came across your vid and have a few tips as we usually do is put the cocoa powder half in the oatmeal and the rest we make the drink then we combine the bouillon and the tomato soup for breakfest And then we break up all the biscuits and chocolate and jerky peanuts etc and put us in a ziplock bag (snack packet) we much on that during the day to keep energy levels high and for lunch eat one of the main meals warm and then the other later in the evening before dark every morning we make 1,5 liters of tea to keep us warm during the day and at lunch we make another 1,5 liters for during the rest of the day and during Watch shift at night. Loved watching the video tho keep it up

I miss the eighties rations these are modern ones less filling and nutrition than the old one. That is why they added so many vitamin mixes. The old box ones that needed the Esbit burners had real greens and meat. Plus they had a lot of browns in them, we were eating bread back than, with much more paté, appelstroop and jams. And the high end mints, tissues and coffee.

In the older rations they had more local brands the real cup-a-soup, tempo, Wilhelmina pepermunt and so on. We still had real meals i especially liked the hamburger with potato, green peas and carrots. But i got out of the regular army in 1996 and have been in the reserves (Nationale Reserve) ever since than. We don't use these as often as back than.

250ml is the whole thing? Metric system: the small water bottle is half a liter, which is 500ml, so about half.... Or in American that's about 8 shotglasses, 2 cupped hands, or 4 drink and spits 😂 Also, it's a Dutch MRE. It's Dutch, because it comes from the Netherlands. Its the kingdom of the Netherlands (including some Caribbean countries), the (European) country is the Netherlands, and the language and people are called Dutch. Other parts of the kingdom are the SSS islands (as part of the country): Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, and Saba; and the ABC countries (as part of the kingdom): Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao (all 6 are in the Dutch Caribbean). We all hold the same passport and can therefore all be called Dutch.

Beef jerky not something that is suposed to be in a Dutch MRE . For one no one its not produced in the netherlands hard to find and not popular . Seems they send a home made kit with leftovers . IF it sounds American or English dont truts it to be in a dutch MRE. Strawbery protine powderd not in dutch MREs . To many foreign stuff in there . One all Dutch MRE packages have content produced in the netherlands with dutch brands , from whipes to jams . You got stiffed with this one as you got suplement pouches as well . chicken sate , pasta bolognese . are added packages . morale boosters , Real dutch packages contain Stampot . cale , hutspot. spinache ,Beans every thing you got there is alternative diet and life style packages. a dutch person cant live from pasta and chicken . It needs high caloric meals . These are just morale breakers , eat them and you go hungry with in an hr, I would suggest to look up real dutch meals .
