The best relationship advice I ever heard was that marriage is a team sport and the ONLY PERSON who REALLY CARES about your success is your partner. The rest of the world couldn't give 2 shits. Get on the team, play for the team, succeed for the team. Selfish doesn't work.

The way he described it, it seems like you’re just expected to accept always being in the wrong and not getting respect back.

What he says about seeing who he wants to raise his children is incredibly profound and humble.

People pay thousands of dollars for marriage advice from therapists, but John gave the best advice in like 30 seconds. I used to be wildly competitive and thought winning an argument was essential cus God forbid I was wrong. Learned that just putting your ego to the side to solve an argument as a team is so much nicer and healthier.... but he is also so clearly obsessed with his wife. Seems like they both won the lottery

have really enjoyed these vids w/Mr B. thanks to all of you for taking the time to simply talk and relate. and am thankful john did meet his wife before this popularity. she will def be his anchor to his real self.... so important. much appreciation to you all. we enjoy you mister B, but pls don't become all celeb on us... we enjoy you cuz you tend to be more real.... hope you never lose that... being able to relate to you helps the listener to go on the journey w/you and feel what should be felt in the stories.... keeping us human and empathetic towards others....and trying to always put ourselves in others' shoes... that is what is missing in the media world. we want to give a part of our heart to those who have experienced some very painful things. and hey, well done w/the your interviewing... easy to listen to and some good questions.

My wife and I are going on 16 years of being together. We have never been in a fight and never had a serious argument. However, we didn't get married until we were 35 and had been together for 5 years.

@boromirofmiddleearth557 of course there has been some frustrations on an occasion, but we never have been in a fight or argument. Since we both worry about each other's happiness, intead of our own, it's made things easy for us.
