    Isn't it funny how a person can just fall into something that they never would have thought would be their strength. Storytelling really isn't easy. Holding someone's attention while you just tell them a story is rarely done well. He's just brilliant at it, and he's accurate. He doesn't embellish things, he just tells the truth of what happened. What a wonderful successful job to have. I wish I could do it!

I wonder if his friends on that trip have seen that video and can now understand what he was experiencing that he was unable to articulate at the time due to his age, fear and confusion. It was a shame that that trip estranged him from his friends and I’d love to hear they’ve been able to reconnect and talk about it over a beer.

    A Swedish researcher came up with a very likely scenario as to what happened to them. I forgot his name. But the story was something like this: they put up camp near a hill, below a mountain called ”mountain of death ” or similar. It turned out that this particular mountain gets extreme weather: strong winds of -50 degrees. It would suddenly be -50 inside the tent and they ran outside without shoes on, to get away. They tried to make a fire. They froze to death. A similar event happened in Sweden in the 1970s. What about the rest of the details? Animals ate their eyes and tongue. The heavy snow covering their bodies eventually crushed their bones. The radiation came from hiking in another mountain range previously where there had been nuclear waste in the area. There were pictures from that hike too. Edit: I realise this may not explain the lights in the sky. However, a good storm would create an interesting sky. I once saw a sky after a storm that looked green and pink.

    Yeah, I have a book about this theory. And the topography and weather creates these crazy sonic sound phenomenon that apparently disoriented them and chased them out of the tents.

    This version still doesn’t explain the blunt force trauma injuries, missing tongue and absolutely deadly decision to leave their tent in -30C temperatures.

  • @Full_Otto

    @Full_Otto

    @@macioluko9484 Take your tinfoil hat off. This theory literally explained all of that. The blunt force trauma was from their bodies being covered by heavy snow, which eventually crushed their bones and caused a fracture. The missing tongue was eaten by bugs after their bodies had been lying there for months without being found.. And they left the tent in panic due to the extreme temperature change inside the tent, and were desperate to create a fire outside. Hypothermia is well documented to cause confusion and disorientation.

    Late to the party but I do want to point out that it wasn’t referred to as death mountain until after this incident. It was called silent peak because the natives never found any animals when hunting there.

    I have listened to many of your stories, every one are great. I wanna thank you because I took retirement a little early at 59 one my probs was sleep deprivation. I don't sleep more than 3 hours usually less but I listen to Mr.Ballen stories to relax and occupy my mind and I fall asleep and sleep much better listening to any but the more interesting ones help the most. Not that I am saying Mr.Ballen stories will put everyone out , on the contrary they just occupy my mind so relax. Usually I wake 2 to 3 hours later not remembering going to sleep. Thanks again and for your service.

    Thing is, there's like not one story he's "told" that hasn't been told a million times over, for years. Not one original or unheard thing. This shit just grabs the attention of the next generation that hasn't heard any of this shit before, and it'll just get recycled and someone will say how "great" the next person is repeating the same shit over and over again....
