Awesome scene. Not so sure fight club had a major influence, not to the overall storyline, but a strong and deserved nod to the movie and what it tried to portray.

Think about it: the protagonists in Fight Club and Mr. Robot both have a dissociative identity disorder, and they both brought down the financial system per accident in the end of the move/series. The piano version of "Where is my Mind" underlines this.

This is the best scene i've ever seen in my life... the dialogue, the music, the two guys, the pop corn at the end... so perfect. Something deep wakes up in my heart everytime i see this... so strange... so beautiful...

Agreed. I liked it but wasn’t really sure about it or particularly ecstatic about it for season 1 and 2. I was starting to lose interest as it went on. Then season 3 was a wave of awesome moments and clarity. Then it ended.....and it’s on it’s way out this next season.

This is one of the most oddly comforting scenes of all time. I'm in tears man... what a masterful scene I always desire to return to and embrace.

I love that Sam Esmail the creator admitted he was inspired by Fight Club. So many writers and such steal ideas and claim it was a coincidence. This is a totally different story with certain similarities so nothing wrong with that. This scene is such a great scene and a beautiful homage to it's inspiration. Also Sam Esmail is not only so fucking talented but he is married to Emmy Rossum. He is the man!

i remember watching this episode when it first came out and instantly printing out the notes to play the music on piano, it's still one of my favourite pieces to play to this day, 100% recommend tbh

How can you guys say Tyrell's ending fits him? SPOILERS He literally just gets killed of by a rando and his death has zero impact.

All the scenes with Tyrell and Elliot feel like lovers conversations. Just change the scenarios and a few words and you have a literal romance. It's curious that all interactions seems incomplete, is like always is missing some time in the beginning or the end.

I danced to that song in my favourite club in the 80s. I hadn't come across that song for at least 10 years. I gave me chills and goosebumps ... and still does every time I hear the opening piano ... *sigh*

When the music started the first I saw this I was like YES! It IS the sequel to fight club EDIT: The series of course became much more than a spiritual sequel to fight club. This is truly a series that could not have been made at any other point in history. Its niche appeal also makes almost certain that it can't be ruined for those unaware. Give it a watch if you like thought provoking television. You won't be disappointed.

Season 1 Episode 9 is still my favourite. As someone who's never seen Fight Club, the twist blew me away. The fact they throw you off by having Mr Robot be his father the episode before makes you not expect another even bigger twist the very next episode. And finally this scene at the end was just beautiful. This show is one of the very best ever made and it will go down in history

Such a beautiful scene, goosebumps. Tears me up everytime. The intense attraction between these two men, a psychologically scarred and alienated hacker who has no one in this world beside his sister, who just wanted to 'save the world' from more alienation under capitalism.

@@247Weed420 just finished the final season. It was available very late in India. Fortunately wasn’t spoiled. Gotta say many scenes have more meanings after the finale.

Masterfull dialogue -timing to the music. Almost like new lyrics. Camera angles, shot timing and actor positions are all top class.

I'm glad I'm not the only human who is turned to tears by the intriguing intensity and subtlety of this perfectly arranged scene. Now, every time I hear Maxence Cyrin's instrumental I just can't hold it anymore and just have to think about Thom Yorke's interview on Radiohead's song "Street Spirit (Fade Out)": "It's core is a complete mystery to me. I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless. All of our saddest songs have somewhere in them at least a glimmer of resolve - 'Street Spirit' has no resolve. It is the dark tunnel without the light at the end. I detach my emotional radar from that song, or I couldn't play it. I'd crack. I'd break down on stage. That's why its lyrics are just a bunch of mini-stories or visual images as opposed to a cohesive explanation of its meaning. I used images set to the music that I thought would convey the emotional entirety of the lyric and music working together. That's what's meant by 'all these things are one to swallow whole'. I meant the emotional entirety, because I didn't have it in me to articulate the emotion. I'd crack. Our fans are braver than I to let that song penetrate them, or maybe they don't realize what they're listening to. They don't realize that 'Street Spirit' is about staring the fucking devil right in the eyes... and knowing, no matter what the hell you do, he'll get the last laugh." STOP HSBC IROJ PNAC

The day I saw this episode, this song was in my head just going round and round, and when I heard it play here... Tears... Tears and hope...

This show is like The Matrix had a baby with Fight Club and this came out. So in love with this show, just watched it a second time after a year when it finished. I can watch it all day nonstop, so inspiring..

I make it my mission to watch this video once every month. It's so beautiful and uplifting to the point it aleviates me. It speaks to me. The most wonderful moment in all of television history, for me.

Incredible. Truly an incredible scene. I just finished season 1, and I keep rewatching this moment. It's been a long time since a show made me feel this way.

The best scene of the show, hands down.

This scene was recorded in my mind, every time I hear the music playing I remember it

Season 1 of Mr. Robot will always be my favourite season of the show. It just hit me at the right time in my life; in fact, it just hits different entirely compared to the rest of the show (which is still all masterful, of course).

As soon as I heard them first piano keys I knew it was where is my mind, I knew it was a fight club homage and I got literal chills. I F*@&ing LIVE for this!

There will never be a show as good as this one again. And it doesn't make me sad, because I got to enjoy this one.

This show is absolutely amazing

Every time when I watch this, I get gegoosebumps.

At this point of the series, it was so obvious that the whole show was a tribute to Fight Club that hearing the first notes of this song gave me instant goosebumps and made me cry. To me, although the ending was a bit disappointing, this is the best series in a long time. Season 4 especially is insane. I'll always remember the episode which starts with Darlene saying "we don't need to talk", followed by a totally dialog-free episode, ending by Darlene saying "we need to talk". It was so perfectly done that I didn't realize the absence of dialog before the end of the episode when she said that. Brilliant.

Fun Fact: Tyrell is the very first character we see on screen. Check for yourself; the S1 E1 opening scene shows a dark room full of men. There in the center is my man Wellick
