They booked him as a monster with 1 minute squashes against jobbers when he was MJF's bodyguard, which was both boring for the fan (imo) and didn't really let him show what he can do in the ring. Now let's see if he can take advantage of this push. Props to Maxwell, though, the guy can draw the heat from any crowd. He's the perfect villain for Wardlow here, and for almost anybody he faces.

Yeah, even in defeat in what amounts to almost a squash match Archer still looks good here. I mean, Wardlow pulled out new and impressive stuff and Archer still pushed through some of it and did a decent amount of damage. I mean, you know going in that Archer isn't going to win except by hijinks in this situation so to pack some athletic surprises into the match and give Archer a fairly good showing for the time given is pretty smart. Wardlow looks like a god and Archer looks like he can at least hurt that god even through some unanticipated attacks.

Even though Archer lost, it's good to see him do the walk off the top rope and do the dive off of the apron. It's been awhile, and I'm glad it looks like he's back to full strength after his injury.

@@tanishqnahar7301 he didn't get squashed it was a back n forth match where Wardlow was actually getting beaten up for most of it until he got it together and power bombed him. The fact that lance Archer is a former title contender is why Wardlow struggled more than usual. Because lance archer is way more tougher than a guy like Shawn Spears plus he's way bigger than Wardlow physically. On top of it all Wardlow beating a former world title contender and getting over being dominated for the first 70 percent of this match shows how much of a monster Wardlow is. This is literally perfect booking and it makes a ton of sense.

I was like, oh it's going to be a reversal into a spear, but when he pulled out the hurricanrana, I was" damn!!!"

With the quick & agility of Wardlow is absolutely impressive. And the clash between him and Lance Archer was terrific while they connected their finishers: *The Blackout* & *Powerbomb Symphony.*

This match has shown that we haven't even seen all of what Wardlow can do in the ring.

8:04 Spears' face is that of a man who knows that eventually his boss is gonna run out of hired muscle & then HE'S gotta face Wardlow.

I like how aew has story lines that last years. Like this one with mjf and wardlow has been building for a good while and the same with hangman becoming champion that started at the very beginning of aew

That's a legend in making And always the great feuds involve MJF

Wardlow powerbombs effectively just like Batista, and perfectly executes the Swanton like Jeff hardy, such a talented wrestler he will be a bigger star..

Loved the tiny detail of Archer staying down and not moving after 4 powerbombs. This makes each powerbomb seem more impactful than before and its really good. Lance is so good at getting people over. He has an aura that always will keep him at the midcard and losses wont hurt him

Wardlow really put Murder Bird through a grand Power Bomb Symphony.

Kudos to Tony Khan as he has booked this feud perfectly and gives me high Hope's for future storylines!!!

Um No you forgot when CM punk took 9 powerbombs then he jumped up instantly and rolled up Wardlow with no offense whatsoever. That was the worst decision this company has ever made. And he looked stupid in that TNT championship match with Sky getting rolled up after running into the ring post .

I've NEVER seen a senton executed by a heavyweight outside of Kevin "Steen" so beautifully and THAT hurricanarana fu$!ing WHAT 👀😂😂😂😍😍😍😍. And Wardog can try and sell the weight of picking up Archer but his leverage point was ABSOLUTE with ease. This was a blueprint heavyweight match that we needed to prove Wardlow is a one of the best heavy's in the pro wrestling world. This was AWESOME and in 2 years no one has EVER kicked out of the blackout!!!...until Mr Mayhem, Wardlow is the new Goldberg Chant on TNT 28 years later 😎

That shida deeb match was 11mins totally and 8 mins no commercial. That fireball was the best part of the night and Tony didn't even let it breathe and expand it more like showing Eddie loaded up into a ambulance and commentary just going in on the entire situation for more than 5 mins. Lol things with big results.

I like guys with character and charisma because they're the ones who draw. I tune into AEW, to watch MJF and Jeff Hardy... Jeff better win next week. He has more starpower than the Elite combined.

I really like the way they're building Wardlow in this feud with MJF. A freakin powerhouse in the making. By far this storyline is the best thing going on AEW.

Warlord is in absolutely other level right now! This guy is good looking, have charisma, it’s powerful but now he is showing than Can be an all around wrestler and for sure people love him. He is the most interesting character in AEW and have everything to be the AEW Champaign and the face of the company.

This match proves Wardlow has all the makings of a major superstar. MJF is just gold at building a story and elevating those facing him. Don't screw this up at talent negotiation time, AEW

Thank you lance archer for helping us all see what else wardlow can do in the ring but also how much of a genuine great person you are

I really enjoy this angle, one minor issue I have is if the person MJF called after this match is who I think it is (I am not naming so not to spoil) I think it was a bad more to make him look like more of a threat than Lance Archer. Lance Archer is a mad dog killer type, and should have been booked as a "I don't want to deal with this guy but it has come to this" Match was great, angle is amazing even liking it more than the CM Punk / MJF feud.

Giving credit to Archer for putting Wardlow doesn’t help him. Can’t remember the last time he won and if it was recent probably not anything significant by the way he’s been booked. Big athletic guy, but can’t seem him as much of threat anymore

They are building Wordlow as 'The Guy' ..'the face' of this company. Imagine when he wins the aew title in a year or two. It will be insane.

Wardlow ain't winning shit TK will botch him he already has and he trying to fix him but he has the wrong idea in his head. Big men will not prosper in this company as long as Tony thinks he can book by himself.

Wardlow and Lance Archer are both phenomenal big men in AEW. Props to Lance for putting over Wardlow to continue this great storyline and those powerbombs were amazing given the height difference of Wardlow and Lance. Too many times bigger guys have taken some ugly powerbombs, but those were things of beauty.

Archer needs a major push

Wardlow reminds me of young Brock Lesnar, strength, power, agility., explosion. Really good match, haven't seen Archer look that clean in years . Time will tell
