This scene is wonderful, shows how Ray kills his brother out of love, given that he had MND and didn't want to live anymore. Nicholas Cassim's acting (Bruce, the brother) is monumental in all the series, but this scene tops it all.

What happened to his brother that leads up to this?
@handsomemenace7225
Жыл бұрын
@@reza_dc2 His brother has a highly debilitating disease that impacted his quality of life completely. In the episodes leading up to this, we see Bruce deteriorating quickly. He gets trapped after falling down while using the toilet, soils his bed, and has to move in with Ray because he can't take care of himself anymore. Early in the series, Bruce asks Ray if he would ever kill him "when the time came" and he "couldn't do it anymore." Well, after several episodes of watching Bruce become more and more miserable, he finally has had enough. Bruce and Ray drive out to the old family home (which is why there is no furniture other than an old crappy chair), to reminisce and talk about their childhood. Afterwards, we arrive at this scene, which is also the end of the episode.
I'm so pissed that this show doesn't get more recognition.

Science says it takes 18 months to two years to begin to function normally after the death of a loved one. The key is to find meaning (through memories and moments in their life) and give yourself a mission to create a legacy for them. An annual project or event or scholarship etc... may be something you do to honour and celebrate your family members that passed. It will help you heal. Do it well with help from others.

I’ve watched this series 5 times now since 1st learning about it in early 2023. Nic Cassim was so good playing Bruce and NMD; I had to google it the first time watching to see if he really had it. Most every scene with Brucey tore me up. Memories of caring for my dad on his way out with cancer. Everything about Ray, Brucey, the “little Princess, Britt.” Their interactions were so well written and acted. Brucey’s goodbye to Britt was another rough scene because you knew. “No one dies, we just change form.” Hard for the living to understand that, isn’t it.
Such a wonderfully acted episode and superb writing with all the dialogue. I was with my Dad when he died and this episode is very meaningful to me for that reason.
I hate the word absolute because of the wrong context it is used in these days but today after watching this it is one of the absolutely brilliant scenes ever filmed and it's Australian. This has to have taken our film making industry to another level. Oh how I have to get this. And to top it off I hope all concerned in making this make an absolute motza each.
Very good scene, stirred and moves me, hurt really hard.
I've not actually seen any of Mr Inbetween seasons but all the clips I've watched on KZread look amazing. Its a shame they've ended it all on season 3. This clip is the one that got to me. Wow

there are a few times in this show that broke me and this was one of them. one of , if not THE, best shows on TV.
I'm stuck between this scene which I watched in a really dusty room or the one where his brother gets out of bed and has soiled himself. Ray helps him clean up, no words are spoken about it but the interaction of them both, his brother especially, it's all in the eyes. It's been a fair while since I watched a series that hit me this hard in it's understated excellence.
Just rewatched this episode, man this show was a masterpiece.

Bro I never cry . But this one made me shed a tear
What a truly great series. From episode 1 to the very last you were rooting for Ray every step. Anyone who's not watched this. Please do.
This scene is truly heartbreaking, because just a couple of minutes earlier, Bruce tells Ray that he'd forgiven their (abusive) father, and actually told him he loved him during what Bruce planned on being the final time he saw him. Ray loves his brother and ends his suffering as an act of compassion and true brotherhood, but he's so broken inside that the most he can muster up for his final words to Bruce is "gonna miss you", and his brother can only say the same back to him.
Not far from where I used to live, a divorced woman who had lost the lawsuit for the house tried to set it on fire on eviction day. She did what Ray did, poured petrol all over the floors, then lit a match. Apparently, she had accidentally hit the sweet spot where the fumes were exactly right for an explosion, and an explosion was what happened. Nothing was left of the (solidly build brick) house.
whats the violin music in the background, please?
This is such a great show. I don’t understand how it didn’t get any traction. Maybe the show’s title threw people off. 🤷♀️

June of 2016 liver cancer took my wife and throughout the entire ordeal she went through not once did I hear a sound coming from her about pain. I would ask her if she wanted something and she always said no. I have been shot twice and that hurt like hell and yes I asked for meds but not with her. Very strong woman for sure.
what a really fantastic scene.. such a great show.
I would have give anything to do this with my brother just to say goodbye rather than to have a cop come and tell me what happened, I kept him alive for years doing for and so much when he would OD And then he goes to jail and is actually clean after 2 yrs in county lock up after request not to send him to prison just county jail so he could be monitored on if he ever used drugs and was close literally to the judge rather than being far away and if the judge wanted the test results there in 1 sec it was done, but hey what am I complaining for, another brother died at birth another at 20 yrs old from the two worst leukemias another brothers died in the same month my 4 grandparents died in, yeah all in the same month in the same year, then my nephew died and 3 cousins were murdered by a gang that drove thru a burger that wasn’t in a bad spot but the gang drove around and far and decided to kill my 3 cousins that night with machine guns, and what’s funny is I have been hit by a car, when I was a boy I had a large object almost crush my body but I healed perfect and not a scratch or scar or pain to this day, from that at least, and so I have had all this death around me but I couldn’t do anything about it and the funerals started so young, I guess why I’m writing this is just to put the thought out to the creator of everything, if there is one, snd I hope there is, I just want to say never birth one again that has to go to funerals like how others annually hold birthdays, wait actually I went to way more than any people from a young age celebrate any amount of birthdays, so, yeah if you could, maybe don’t let anyone ever feel that type of sadness and that out of misery wrapped in crushing sadness for one just basically newborn in this world but one who’s able to see here and understand both of what’s in those sights and sounds…..edit: please, for I would never dare to dream of telling the creator what to do, this was a simple please request, if you will, a kind of, if he ever holds a day granting people their wish then don’t forget to add this one even if it’s the last one in, type of thing….
