Primus would be mainstream. Everyone would have a Buckethead poster on their walls. Devo would be The Beatles and The Residents would be The Rolling Stones. Renaldo and the Loaf would be played out and Dead May Dance would be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I like it the way it is.

I was 15 years old in 1995. I was a younger 10th grader in Highschool and I listened to Mr. Bungle/Crass/Nirvana's "In Utero"/ GWAR's "This Toilet Earth"/ and Tool's "Undertow" on my Walkman every single day. (I liked Cassette Tapes way better than CD's back then, plus they were less than half the cost.) Those 5 Band's changed my entire perception, and influenced me to start a band of my own when I was 16. Those were some incredible times, and I am forever grateful.

Damn this video is spectacular. I love that the genius of imagery is perfect for Patton's musical genius. I love the effects and color grading, lighting and noise are perfectly created as if the brain was stirring up this nightmare on its own. Definitely one of my favorites of all time, and wholly inspiring. This one must have taken an enormous amount of work to produce.

I noticed that too. From what I gathered this version was uploaded by the actual music video director so I imagine he had access to the master copy which explains the high quality. I also noticed how the other versions of the music video available on KZread are poor in quality … they must be the same compressed file.

I was a teenager in high school in 1991 when my buddy Marc introduced me to this song and album. I've been a Mr. Bungle fan ever since. Yet, I never knew there was a music video for Travolta AKA Quote Unquote. This song is as fresh and unique today as it was back then and doubly so for the music video. Many things get called 'cult' favorites but few things are as 'cult fave' as Mr. Bungle. It truly feels like you're in a select fan club for a band that few people ever learn about.
