My uncle gave me this set around 10 years ago. I lost the instructions around then and recently decided to build it. Couldn’t find the instructions anywhere so thank you very much for slowly grazing over them with the camera!

I built a couple of these way back in the 80's both the normal display stand and the flight display version (ROTJ), they both became victims to thunderbolts and double happy's one guy fawkes night. You could pick one up for like $19.95 nzd each back then compared to over the top scalper prices of around $200- $300 per kit these days. Hopefully Round 2 is in the process of retooling these for future release like they have with the rest of the ERTL/MPC Star Wars model kit range in their 1.32-ish scale. Great kits and easy and fun to build.

The of MPC kit was ideas on screen in empire and return of the Jedi , they just auction Brian Johnson’s at the prop store , many people don’t know this is an actual studio scale model after it’s screen debut

We're being spoiled with so many reviews recently Andrew! Thanks for this one too. It looks like a fun kit and I'd love to see it built and weathered like the box art ;)

Thanks Kerri. Also thank you for taking the time to comment like you do, I really appreciate it. I have one waiting. but I have 100 other kits waiting lol. A good friend of mine has printed some extras to go along with a Dio I have planned. Hopefully after this DAMN statewide lockdaown lifts I can grab them of him.

I just finished building one of these. Quite fun. This is the first kit I used LEDs to light, so that was a challenge with much trial and error. But I'm really happy about how the final result looks.

It is 100% accurate........if you build it as is, its a replica of the one they used for filming the escape from Hoth. It went up for auction on propstore.

As kerri263 said, you are certainly knocking out the reviews at the moment - but I’m not complaining!! Guess you are in the groove right now. Nice to see, Andrew.

Fun review! Built one of these when it first came out in 1978. Currently working on a rebuild this very kit (same RTOJ box art). Built a better wing mechanism that can be motorized and adding engine LED's.

@@andrewsartscalemodels - Wow, I did not expect a response! I don't have a Facebook account but you can see the concept (1:35 and 1:43/1:48ish MPC scale) on my own KZread channel. Currently posting pictures of the latest MPC mechanism and motor drive unit on the RPF modeling forum. A video will be made in the coming months.

We picked this model up at a garage sale. Opened it and there doesn’t seem to be anything about painting it, does anyone have a paint key?

why buy a new and higher detailer cockpit when you can build your own with a little bit of Tamiya putty and some coperwire.
