Thank you guys for playing this Sonata so beautifully for us in Chicago (January 2024). Your fame had already spread far and wide as Orchestral Hall was filled with many young and old listeners who concentrated on your every note. I hope we will see you and hear you every year, but I know the whole world wants to hear you!

These young men play this piece with such precision, dexterity and passion, that I'm sure Mozart would be impressed. I have listened to it at least 50 times over the last few months when I first found it and each time, I enjoy it even more. Bravo Lucas and Arthur Jussen for your incredible talent and passion.

@Mermaid Kate🎹 I love all of them for sure, and especially this one K 448 for two pianos, but if I had to choose another favorite it would be: Mozart Sonata C Major K. 309.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful compositions (sonate) by this genius of the classical period. One of the few pieces for two pianos he composed. This sonata (448) was used in the scientific study that tested the theory of the Mozart effect, suggesting that classical music increases brain activity more positively than other kinds of music: "According to the British Epilepsy Organization, research has suggested that Mozart's K 448 can have the "Mozart effect", in that listening to the piano sonata improved spatial reasoning skills and reduced the number of seizures in people with epilepsy. Apart from the Mozart Concerto K 488, only one other piece of music has been found to have a similar effect, a song by the Greek composer Yanni, entitled "Acroyali/Standing In Motion", It was determined to have the "Mozart effect", by the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine because it was similar to Mozart's K 448 in tempo, structure, melodic and harmonic consonance and predictability " Mozart composed this sonata when he was around these young pianists' age (25) You interpret this sonata like angels. I guess, you can't get any more Mozartian than this ... Bravi!!!

Just to cry for... Heaven is here. We cannot speak about perfection, it's not a part of this world. But, somewhere, somehow, IT IS perfection. May I dedicate your interpretation of this wonderful sonata to the memory of my best friend Carole, died on July, the 11th, 1995, in an airplane crash ? It will be 25 years this year... It's so painful... But, whatever, "Tempus fugit"... And what is not killing you makes you stronger. Even if painful to die for... Jussen brothers, you are exceptional. Thank you.❤

I cannot imagine that anyone has ever played this work better than Arthur and Lucas play in this performance. They and Steinway & Sons should be delighted with these two beautiful and beautifully gifted brother artists and the magnificent pianos they and we are given to hear them play this amazing Mozart work upon.

That's what I'm thinking too... that there's something special about this particular sonata. It's like anyone advanced enough can play it in duet, but the piece needs deeper connection between the two pianists in order to show its real beauty.... It's as if mozart put a spell on it, that only people connected in a spiritual level can play this exceptionally well.

@@MrPhil480 Neither is there in life. Your overprefernce for Bach, whose music has the sophistication of mathematical equations-and their charm(s), for better or worse, exposes your hyperintellectualizing 'approach' to music, the anosognosic pseudo-sophistication of someone clearly suffering from right hemisphere neglect, whether by medical cause or 'simply' indoctrination. You should learn how to interact with and more importantly how to integrate your emotions instead of grumbling at people about their supposed ignorance. And perhaps get yourself checked for Aphantasia, it'd also explain a few things. Ones which music theory doesn't, at least not yet, but people much cleverer than either of us work on changing that. So stop being a grumbly grumbler and learn to enjoy the show.

Specifically for comparison, I just listened to the very excellent Barenboim/Argerich recording of the same piece (also available on KZread). And the difference between the two is just what I thought it would be. The Jussen brothers' ensemble playing is without parallel. As the two go their separate ways as performers, I hope they continue to record together sometimes, because as good as each of them is, the remarkable unity of their performances as a duo is something too absolutely unique to lose.
