I keep repeating your first tail whip, I keep seeing nuances I have not noticed before, back to the drawing table. Your form is really beautiful, and inspiring.

very well done form - I taught Taoist Tai Chi Beginners for 8 years and was a Special Needs Intructor for 1 year and Trained other Instructors - I have also trained in 2 lineages of Chen - 2 schools of Pa Kua Chuan and 12 animal Hsing I as well as Lok Hup Ba Fa and Souther Yiquan - your form is connected and your sitting spot on - although I might de- emaphasize this a bit for the beginners as knee problems can occur when trying to emulate you -becuase we learn through mimicry and exagerration remember keep up the good work !!!

I am learning to love tai chi. Have you ever thought of making a video of the whole form in which you stand in front of a mirror so that we beginners could "stand in back of you" while watching your hands in the mirror in front of you? I think this would be helpful. Thank you for this video.

Hello, There are many styles of Tai Chi and what they are called or where they come from is irrelevant. What is important that you do something.Remember that Tai Chi is often called meditation in motion and doing it at your own pace, style and length of time is the important part. Martin has a beautiful, fluid style and yes it is a beautiful dance uniting mind and body. Slow down, relax and DO IT !

It depends of the paste you are doing it. Average would be 15 to 20 minutes.

You move smoothly but what you are doing it a beautiful dance but not true traditional tai chi. You are not using proper tai chi principles in your movements. Have you done any push hands, martial applications or Qi Gong? If you want to study the real art of tai chi, consider trying Chen, Yang, Sun or Wu style. After a year of training in one of this true internal arts, you'll be amazed at your level of proficiency in using the principles. Please look into "Master" Moy's background and compare it to other masters. It is my opinion that Taoist Tai Chi is the Mcdonald's of tai chi. "Master" Moy was not a true master, he didn't train intensively under a true traditional master and then removed all the martial and push hands aspects which is the foundation of the whole art.

This is Taoist tai chi, and he is doing "proper" Taoist tai chi. There are different versions of tai chi, so your remark that he's not doing "the real art of tai chi" is incorrect. You may think your preferred version is better, but there are many people who prefer Taoist tai chi, which was developed and taught by Master Moy Lin-Shin. It wasn't taught to him because it was created BY him. Please look into WHY Master Moy developed Taoist tai chi, and feel free to keep your insults to yourself. Many of us love Taoist tai chi and the many, many health benefits we reap from the practice. That YOU don't consider it "true" tai chi or a "real" martial art means nothing to us, and calling it the "McDonalds of tai chi" was rude and unnecessary. Devotees of TTC don't care about your self-righteousness or feelings of superiority. Martin teaches tai chi and qi gong, so he knows more than one style.

Candice ecidnaC Candice, I'm sorry anyone who does real traditional tai chi knows what Mr. Moy was not a Master of the art. He took a few classes and created was an empty shell of an art that doesn't subscribe to any of the Tai Chi Classic texts. Instead of ranting...ask some people who do Chen, Yang, Wu and Sun style what they think of your art. Mr. Moy unfortunately has given our art of tai chi a bad reputation in the West but not utilizing any of the core basics. Taoist raise their shoulders, elbows, don't sink their weight, over extend and lock their joints and don't properly coordinate the upper and lower body. Mr. Moy felt he was creating an art soley dedicated to health but doing these things don't allow the body to fully relax and utilize its Chi.

wow..... can you honestly say anything of the sort without trying it? ---which in terms of any internal art ---- TAKES TIME....... same as any of the styles you have mentioned ---transformation of the Body to one of health involves working many things which beginners have less access to to begin -----and no MASTER moy did not specialize in tai chi --- he felt mostly was was spread was a shell ---- however LOK hup ba fa and other internal arts martial were his specialty...... the form we see a Taoist or moy or whatever name you would like use --- is more akin to Lok hup -----which he considered far more effective --- and it's lineage i believe is much older.........

CHristopher Sierzchula You can believe what you like but anyone who does traditional tai chi or any legitimate form of tai chi chuan can see that he doesn't understand the martial aspects. If they are so wonderful, why are the Taoists never invited to attend any symposiums with masters from other styles ....because they are considered a joke. Ask any person who has done Sun, Wu, Chen or Yang style what they think of the Taoists. Their popularity is due to the fact they don't charge for classes or charge a nominal fee. You get what you pay for. I challenge you to train with a master or disciple of one of the traditional forms of tai chi (Sun, Wu, Chen or Yang) for one year. Write me in a year and share your experience.

Tee Jay what you continually fail to understand is that no one who practices Taoist tai chi CARES enough to "ask any person who has done sun, Wu, Chen, or yang style what they think." You're trying to convince people they're doing something wrong when they don't give a damn about your opinion. I like taoist tai chi. It helps me and I enjoy each of the classes I attend. I have no desire or reason to try another form, and your self-righteous, snooty responses aren't nearly enough to convince me otherwise. You can think you're superior all you want, and that your preferred way(s) is (are) the only way, but you're trying too hard to recruit people who don't want to be recruited. I don't see why our practice of Taoist tai chi offends you so much that you feel you need to become the Jehovah's Witness of Sun, Wu, yang, or Chen tai chi, "preaching the good word" about the "true form" on videos. Does that ever work? Do you go around attempting to shame other tai chi practitioners into switching sides (er, forms) with your preachy, my-choice-is-superior attitude? Do you get converts that way? It's like we're happy but you're trying to sell us something you swear will make us happy. We're not buying, so save your breath.
