I filmed this in 1975 with a super 8 camera. Had it converted to digital. Still have the original film.

Hi. I was a student of TTCS in the 1990s onwards. I noticed from your video kzread.info/dash/bejne/qm2Xw8yedsmuiZM.html, of you presumably, that your form is quite different to Mr Moy's but obviously very practiced, and looks more like 'traditional' tai chi. Is that how Mr Moy was teaching originally in the early 70s and later simplified it to what we see above and in the 1980s?

Super8 film made short film clips. Excellent archive here. Thanks for posting. How Master Moy completes snakes in his suit is lovely to see. It was in keeping with the business district and era to be in full dress in the city core everyday. Makes me nostalgic for those times and ambitions. Nice to remember what Master Moy contibuted to us in his lifetime.

My first true Tai Chi teacher was Mr. Gao Qin. He held classes on Queen near Spadina back in the late 60s. He was also a student of Leung Tze Pang. This footage is very much like what I learned from Mr. Gao. When I started with Mr. Moy in the late 70s, his Tai Chi has changed by then.

@@alwong98 Mr. Moy spoke highly of Yiquan, Jing Wu, and Shaolin to me. So I went on to study Yiquan and dabbled in Jing Wu, Bagua etc. After 50 years of study I think I finally understand what internal arts are. To test my understanding I wrote a book last year, hoping to learn more from the readers' responses, and not be overly embarrassed in the process.

Wonderful footage. Quite crisp and defined compared to his more languid later style

Amazing footage! Where did you film this? I am a member of the Taoist Tai Chi Society that Master Moy founded. I have a keen interest in Master Moy's history. Can you tell me where you filmed this. What was master Moy doing in a suit!

Hi Norn, I was an early student from 1971. I filmed it behind the Toronto city hall on the 2nd level. I can tell you much about the early history.
