That's a great idea! And yes, I have dealt with VA loans. Although they are a little more strict as far as home conditions and can take a little longer to close they are a great option.

Are rausch Coleman decent new construction homes? I see some listings in el reno and chickasha for under 200k. I’m from Northern California thinking about a potential move in the future.

Rausch Coleman builds a lot of homes so they have to be doing something right. You're not going to get a lot of bells and whistles, but the home will be built to code. I personally believe it's a good entry level home, but they are also attractive to investment companies who will turn some of the homes into rentals.
