I stayed in an Airbnb in Compton last year and it appeared very safe to me..... there was a kind of "car street party" not too far away though... quite unusual :)

Thanks. Might be moving to LA in a few weeks for work and Im coming from a city with great public transportation and Im really afraid of traffic

if you're not living in the actual city of la or long beach, the public transportation is really bad.
