I hope this helps!... Downtown Charleston The center of it all, and a beautiful place to be. Urban living with several nuances to be aware of. www.natwallen.com/downtown-charleston-homes Daniel Island Very planned, but not in a bad way. Worth seeing in person to decide. www.natwallen.com/daniel-island-homes Mt Pleasant Considered the best schools, which draws a lot of people. I know schools may or may not be a a priority, but lots of families here. www.natwallen.com/mount-pleasant-homes James Island Older area, close to town and Folly Beach. More organic. Feels lived in and lots of water around. www.natwallen.com/james-island-homes Johns Island Rural but can be close to town. Second largest island on the east coast (next to Long Island). More greenspace, less developed. Traverse this area to get to Kiawah and Seabrook. www.natwallen.com/johns-island-homes West Ashley Similar to James Island but a much larger area. Also considered pretty central to get to the airport, Costco and things like that. Great idea! Wish you best of success! I'm a tourist as far as Charleston goes, but I always enjoy seeing the surrounding areas, no matter if its Charleston, New Orleans, London. Plus, I have had a lot of business trips to Charleston in the past, as well as Savanah (Charleston is my favorite between the two).

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I finally learned where the Charleston Green color came from! I am from Georgetown, SC, and graduated from C of C in 1981. Georgetown may be my home, but Charleston is my town. Thanks!

Thanks so much! I further learned that the north supplied the south with paint, and during the war they cut off supply chains, which is why they were running low on black and needed to add the green. Thanks so much for watching and saying hi!

This video is wonderful. I am from Charleston and can never get enough of it. I always learn a little bit more with each viewing. One thing I would like to mention is the black paint. Don't know if you know or meant to leave that off. The north supplied us with a great deal of black and we weren't going to have any of it so we tinted it with green. Ergo...

San Diego has its own charm. Also Charleston despite having some sketchy parts seems to be much safer then SanDiego. Charleston is a republican city and San Diego politically a democrat city even culture wise.

I grew up in Charleston and learned a couple of things!

I heard that. I used to live on Clemson Street and a neighbor said that they used to hear a lion roar… This was a long time ago, so I may be miss remembering it… But that person also told me that there used to be horse races there?

I was visiting the zoo as a kid and a friend of mine got nipped by a monkey when she thought it was a good idea to put her finger into its cage. It didn't get infected, I'm surprised to say. I distinctly remember a lion, also. A very bored, sleepy lion.

Was in Charleston in mid 90's. It was so hot I remained in my hotel 2 days until I could get a flight. I guess if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen....

@@NatWallen-Realtor-Charleston I'd be up for that. I do a lot of work in historic homes downtown. We just did #2 South Battery not long ago. The customer that owns 3 Stolls Alley also owns 43 East Bay. This is the big mansion right next to 3 Stolls Alley. Their yards are connected by a courtyard.

You should definitely do a walking tour though if you’re coming… It’s a great way to learn about the city. Search for Tommy Dew ok the web. He’s a friend that gives walking tours. He’s excellent.
