Again, we made this video to cover things to help you when moving to Charleston South Carolina that go beyond just looking at homes for sale.
Here are some things you will find when watching this Charleston Relocation video:
+ What it is like living on James Island
+ Fun things to do when living in Charleston SC.
You will find in this video there are two consider when moving to James Island.
First, how close do you want to live to Folly Beach, SC?
Secondly, is being close to Downtown Charleston, SC important to you?
Many people ask me where the best neighborhoods in Charleston are, and that is a tough question to answer.
I start by asking the question, what is most important? Is relocating to Charleston driven by schools? Do you need to be close to MUSC? , How close would you like to be to Downtown Charleston? Are you thinking about Charleston waterfront property?,
The good part about living in Charleston is that it does not take too long to understand the layout of Charleston. The Ashley River and Cooper River meet at the Battery on the Downtown Peninsula, which forms the Charleston Harbor. This helps make the city easy to understand because you can use it as a center point, and then work your way out from there when planning your move.
There are also many different businesses here. Working in Charleston is very desirable because we are on the coast, and the cost of living here is still reasonable. With that said, depending on your expertise, there are many jobs in Charleston.
Thanks so much for your interest and whether you are relocating to Charleston for work or whether you are moving to Charleston to come enjoy living in the near the beach, thank you for watching this full Charleston Video Tour series and we hope this helps you better understand James Island. Reach out anytime with questions or comments.
Thank you!

Your video is very well done and I enjoyed watching it. I'm nearly 50, and JI has always been my home. There has been so much growth! Somebody else mentioned we are full-lol!! I agree. We will likely move off the island due to how busy it has become, but it is hard to imagine leaving. I look forward to watching your other videos.

Hi ... my husband grew up on James Island ... and I grew up in N. Charleston. We left in the 80's ... love your video's ... makes me homesick!
I’m moving to JI from Summerville this month!! My fiancé owns in Stonefield and I’m paying rent here which doesn’t make sense. We purchased a lot in Winterseat (Ridgeville) and are anxiously waiting for the price of building materials to come back down to earth. I didn’t want to move twice but there ya have it. You may hear things like this often but I love your videos and I actually will be in contact when we sell. I love that you’re local and well established in the area. Thanks!!
Love your videos very informative
I’m considering a move to Charleston from Chicago. Thanks for the simple and through overview of the different areas in Charleston

Hola Nat, thanks for the great video. We are looking at the charleston area, specifically the johns and james island areas. I am an engineer for Boeing and we have spent the last 20 years overseas, currently sitting in Santiago , chile. We are certainly eager to get back home and put down some roots in the mother land. Your series on charleston are a big help and the laid back Southern Charm your present is what we miss most. Gracias..

I would love to move to Mount Pleasant ! I love the restaurants in Charleston. Sad to hear Blossom went out of business. What happened ? their food was wonderful and a beautiful setting / restaurant. thanks for all you videos; very informative

Thank you Tina! I’m not sure what happened to Blossom. There are so many good restaurants Downtown, maybe they got tired of always competing for business… maybe COVID took them out. It’s a shame
Looks pretty sweet.
Folly Road can really test your nerves, the traffic is terrible in the summer especially on the weekends. Everyone wants to go to Folly Beach, you have to leave real early if you want a parking spot there, come after 10am and your out of luck unless you do get lucky and catch someone backing out.
helpful video!

I’m from James island we live in Charleston
I am looking to move to SC come June of 2022 but, because of the housing market as crazy as it is right now, I am not sure whether I am looking to buy or rent. I thought about renting for a year first. I am moving from PA & Ohio.

Bring your waders to Jame's Island and have good flood insurance.
What area’s in Charleston/greater Charleston are best to live to avoid any flooding issues?
@NatWallen-Realtor-Charleston
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jody, There are a few spot areas on James Island that you have to be wary of, and a few spot areas in West Ashley and then there are streets downtown that you have to watch out for… Otherwise, there are no problems. Unless you’re on front Beach and a big hurricane comes, then there could of course be an issue with tidal surge … But it doesn’t necessarily flood here all the time. It’s really not a problem
used to live downtown on wentworth then out on JI...Charleston is great visit but its become unlivable
The summers in South Carolina would be much too hot for me.

Hi Carl!
I chose Myrtle Beach over Charleston for 1 major reason......Charleston is gonna have a major, catastrophic earthquake....I don't know when, obviously, but there is a good chance it will be in our lifetime
