    Basque Country or Euskal Herria has 7 provinces, 4 under Spain and 3 under France. The 4 provinces under Spain has been divided in two different Autonomies and the three provinces under France are joined with other one.

    Bilbao is not the capital of the Basque Country. However, it is the biggest city in the said region / community. Vitoria is the "de facto" capital city of The Basque Country. The Basque Country comprises of 3 provinces which are: Bizkaia (Capital City: Bilbao), Alava (Capital City Vitoria) and Gipuzkoa (Capital city: Donostia / San Sebastian).

    I found that groceries, eating out etc. are quite similar to Asturias. Rent, however, is much higher and it takes some time to come across a good deal. Higher wages compensate for that though, so you can give it a go and see how you like it! Good luck!

    Hello! It's not the cheapest in Spain, nor is it the most expensive. At least not as expensive as living in Madrid or Barcelona. You also have a wide range of hotels, hostels and tourist accommodations and you can get a set menu of the day from 12 to 20 € which includes a starter, main course, dessert, bread and drink. Visit us whenever you want, everybody's welcome!

    @@oskarobitHow hard would it be to find an apartment in Bilbao, as a remote worker with non-Spanish income?

  • @oskarobit

    @@danirabinowitz5049 I suppose you must do a search for the legal aspects of living outside your country while working for a company, or as a freelance, in your country. The regular facts that I know is that you can just stay for a limited period of time, let's say, as a tourists. But the terms for renting are out of my knowledge. When I was working outside my city, and sometimes travelling through Spain, householders can ask you for a "trabajo fijo" (a stable job) and one or two "nominas" (the monthly sheet with your salary). But this things can be considered ilegal today for the actual Laws about Privacy and Data Protection. I think the usual is to pay one month in advance and a deposit of one or two more monthly payments. Also, the prices in cities like Madrid are absurdly high: for the price of a room in a shared flat you can pay a small apartment for your own in other smaller cities. Warning: Smaller cities doesn't mean bad, old or without the basic services. Cities in the north like Bilbao or Vitoria are at just 5 hour in high velocity train or driving to Madrid. Public transport is very good at least joining big and regular cities. take a look at this web, Idealista: www.idealista.com/alquiler-viviendas/bilbao-vizcaya/con-pisos/

    Los vascos derrotaron a los romanos, árabes, a Carlomagno pero no han derrotado a los Españoles.😂😂❤ viva los vascos!

  • @adhur9

    @adhur9

    8 ай бұрын

    Efectívamente los vascos derrotaron en 788 a Carlomagno en los altos de Ibaineta y Lepoeder. No derrotaron a los árabes porque no eran enemigos. De hecho, en la ribera nabarra se hicieron fuertes los Banu-Qasim; vascones autóctonos convertidos al islam y emparentados a su vez con los Aritza. Tampoco derrotaron a los romanos porque la convivencia se basó en la colaboración puntual; ya que los romanos no tenían demasiado interés en la zona. Pero sí que ganaron una batalla contra los romanos en una alianza entre dos tribus vascas: los vascones y los aquitanos. Y el fuerte donde perdieron los romanos se puede visitar en los Pirineos. Además de eso, los vascos sí que derrotaron a los Castellanos en varias ocasiones: -Una vez en 1175: Para frenar las continuas incursiones castellanas en Bizkaia, el rey de Nabarra fundó la villa de Portugalete, que junto a la villa de Barakaldo al otro lado de la ría (localidad vizcaina también fundada por un monarca nabarro), servirían para poblar las riveras del Ibaizabal hasta la costa. También se construyó un torreon defensivo en Gaztelugatxe, donde hoy hay una ermita. Como Nabarra no pudo frenar las incursiones castellanas, el general Sancho Galdakano atacó a las tropas castellanas desde los montes de Ganguren, y estas tubieron que refugiarse en el castillo de Balmasin. (Si entras a Bilbao desde San Sebastián pasarás por un largo tunel que atraviesa una montaña y encima de esa montaña están las ruinas del castillo). Ese mismo año un laudo albitral emitido desde Londres obligaba a los castellanos a devolver el castillo de Balmasin a Nabarra. -Otra vez en el año 1099: Castilla intenta invadir Nabarra y comienza entrando por Araba. Los castellanos son derrotados y se ven obligados a firmar un tratado de paz: Castilla devolvería a Nabarra el valle de Arga y la población de Larraga, y a cambio Nabarra cedería Trebiño a Castilla y Castilla. (Por eso hoy Trebiño es parte de Burgos) La única batalla que Nabarra perdió contra Castilla fue en 1512. Cuando Castilla definitivamente consigue conquistar Pamplona. Aunque el reino de Nabarra seguía teniendo territorios soberanos: Lapurdi, Zuberoa, y la parte norte de la propia Nabarra que se adentraba en los Pirineos; que hoy se conoce como Baja Nabarra. Y desde la localidad de Maule en la Baja Nabarra, fue desde donde se inició un intento de reconquista en 1520 que fracasó en 1522 en el Castillo de Amaiur, en la localidad nabarra de Maia. La corte siguió siendo soberana en esos tres territorios que hoy se conocen como Iparralde (la zona norte) y la corte nabarra incluso se estableció durante un tiempo en Burdeos gracias a las buenas relaciones con Francia. En la revolución francesa al final cayó la corte nabarra y con ello los territorios de Lapurdi y Zuberoa fueron engullidos por la república. Clase de historia gratuíta.
