Moving Labor Startup | Tips to generate leads | How to start labor only moving hustle

In this video I will give you some tips and advice on how to start your own labor-only moving hustle.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the things you need to do.
1. Equipment - It’s important that you have the appropriate equipment to help you knockout your jobs. I recommend that you purchase a furniture dolly, 4 way dolly (Slide), 1 dozen moving pads or blankets, and a simple toolkit. You don’t have to have these items to start your hustle but having these things will help you be more successful with your new venture. You can buy all this stuff new or purchased used equipment for a cheaper price on Facebook Market Place, Craigslist, and Offer Up.
2. Lead Generation - How will you generate your business ? I recommend you promote your services on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and Movinghelp.com. Outline your services, rates, and experience on all these platforms.
3. Professionalism - be about your business and always be a professional. Always communicate with your customers, be polite, and work hard/smart on the job. If you do these things your hustle will be successful.

    Hey Ryan, I promoted one of my moving leads to dispatch manager. It’s a new role in the company so we’re developing his responsibilities as we go along. He still helps with moving but he also helps with dispatching the crews, material inventory/pickup, and everything related to the trucks. If you have someone solid on your team who is I treated in growing their role then I would consider putting them in the dispatch position.

    Hey Man.. exactly how do you advertise moving labor on marketplace? What should the title say? I looked and I didn't see no other business doing it? What exactly did u mean and how do I post my service on there

  • @Movingcompanyhustle

    @Movingcompanyhustle

    Жыл бұрын

    I haven't advertised my services on Marketplace in a long time, but when I did I would upload a picture of my crew carrying a couch, with the title "We move couches for sale". Sometimes the post wouldn't get flagged, other times it would. You have to be strategic and test the waters with different posts to see what works because FB is actively looking for people promoting their business services. Get creative with your posts and I'm sure one will eventually stick and turn into some business.

    @@Movingcompanyhustle So we operate as both labor only and full service. We are in the process of buying our first truck. In the second summer of operation. We did about $60,000 last year, and have done about $45,000 this year with another $15,000 booked. This has been only part time though as I have been in school full time in the offseason. I am however graduated and looking to take it full time. Would love any advice on routine, lead generation etc. Been watching all your videos man keep killing it!

    This year my company Headband hit about $350K revenue doing our own marketing on social media, word of mouth, flyers, my website, google, etc. Movinghelp.com is great because it's guaranteed business, but they take 15% cut on all your sales. The more marketing and advertising you do yourself the more revenue your business will make.

    ok i have a friend who does this but he contracts with penske and people book and pay through his website but the labor goes out to contractors he makes a ton of money i think they grossed 5 million but has thousands of 1 star reviews smh lol is it better to just stay local/small so you can train people properly and not contract out?

  • @Movingcompanyhustle

    Interesting. Thanks or sharing this info, Andre. What's his website? Are you familiar with how the contract agreement works with Penske. Grossing 5 million is an impressive. Staying local is great but it has it's own challenges. If you can build a solid local team you can hit 1 million in revenue in a 2-3 years. I know guys who have done it 1-2 years but it takes a lot of work, resources, and capitol.

    Hey bro so do you need any insurance?

  • @Movingcompanyhustle

    @Movingcompanyhustle

    2 жыл бұрын

    I didn’t have insurance when I first started doing moving labor because I wasn’t a business, I was contracted labor. I also wasn’t transporting the customers stuff, the customer rented the truck, drove the truck, and I only loaded it. If you plan on doing furniture deliveries in a truck you could get basic cargo insurance or liability insurance. It does look good if you have some kind of insurance when on a platform like Moving Help, but it can be expensive. Let me know if you have anymore questions about insurance, my broker is awesome when it comes to insurance policies and id be happy to ask her any questions for you.
