Moving In with Your S.O. for the First Time - Expectations & Disagreements | AsianBossGirl Ep 280

Moving in with a significant other is one of the key milestones in a relationship. Learning each other's preferences and creating a home together can be extremely rewarding… but also a big test for you and your partner. Even if you have experience living with roommates, sharing a space with a S.O. can be a big adjustment. Since Mel just recently moved in with her boyfriend, we thought it’d be a perfect time to share how we all decided to move in with partners, as well as the inevitable disagreements and pet peeves that come with cohabitation.

Would love to get an episode on finances - how your upbringing shaped your perception around $, how your relationship with $ has changed over the years, the process of self-sustaining through self-employment income, sharing/splitting finances with S.Os at different stages of the relationship, how you're planning for the future/retirement, do you talk about finances with friends, gift-giving and spending $ on friends' weddings, your worst financial mistakes, best financial tips, etc.

Funny. As a married husband of now 30 years, don't sweat the small stuff. The future is unpredictable, so what's important now, might not be in 10 years or 20 years, especially when it comes to children, elderly in-laws, future children's spouse and family. Think of the marriage/living arrangements as a marathon. It's not the start but how you weather the long haul.

I enjoyed this ep so much!! Thank you!! This is so relatable and couldn’t help but giggle the whole time watching this. Thanks for keeping it real! Rey, we don’t hate you. You’re simply being OC at times, like what Janet said, learning to compromise is also KEY to a lasting relationship with our SO’s.

Love this episode! 😊 But Helen’s story about hanging the clothes is SO Relatable! My husband likes to hang his clothes & there’s been a few times that I accidentally dry his good clothes 👀.

The first time I ever moved out of my parents’ house was with my boyfriend. He had already been living with roommates, so he knew what it was like to be on his own for the most part. We bought a house together, and though it was such an adjustment for me financially, we learned to communicate so well with each other and it’s been the best living with him! I get to live with my best friend and boyfriend all under one roof!

I don't think Clean vs cleaner is the definition. It's more that everyone's tolerance is different. Someone may be more tolerant to messiness than the other.
