A slightly smaller carrier reduces the chance of injury during bumpy transportation (like dragging a sled down a lumpy path) So maybe it's you who need to feel a little shame yourself, arrogance is not a good look. Then just do it! It's super easy! (Well not really but easier than I thought, it's not some impossible dream) I left Chicago and moved to viroqua wisconsin and built my own cabin after watching these videos all I needed was a car felling tools and I bought a 0.02 acre for 500 dollars and did it in 30 days, I let my phone bill die out and lived during covid up here, I since then have returned to normal life after 2 years but. If you want it you can do it

Hey just found your videos. If you like outdoors/survival type books I have to recommend "The lure of the Labrador wild” it's an amazing true story. Keep up the great videos

Love the vids. All the hard work that's put in. Hope the ACL surgery heals well. You need to hang curtains or blinds, definitely holds the warmth in.

A pair of vintage extendable swing arm curtain rods ( with rings) so the window can be fully seen. A baby crib quilt 36" x 52" cut in half with cut edges re stitched would be good window insulation. E-Bay has lots of those curtain rods for cheap but they are really nice looking. Second hand clothing stores should carry old baby quilts. Heck even a thick old wool blanket would work as curtains cut to size...less fuss too. Could also try a large vehicle wind shield reflective sun screen. (even less fuss..lol)

I’m in commercial millwork but have been a carpenter my entire career. You guys are doing right. Simplistic living in a serene area. Continue to post videos and we will watch them. Hey, Kyle and Cierra! This is the first time I've been on your channel that I can remember. I watch a lot of these kinds of shows, probably because I can't do them myself. So I live it through people like y'all. Where we live we don't get that much snow, unless it's a really, really bad year! But we live here year round. Our heat source is a wood stove too. My husband cuts a lot of wood yearly. Fortunately our landlord has a lot of land so we get free wood. My husband is the caretaker here. Our landlord is trying to get a solar system set up for both houses, but didn't get it finished for this winter. Hopefully get it finished this spring. He doesn't actually live here though, just visits for a weekend every couple months, except from the end of November to the start of March when he goes to his winter home in a year-round summer country. Our nearest neighbors are 2 miles away, down the mountain, and 4 miles away, up the mountain. Closest grocery store is a 45 minutes drive one-way from our house. I hope Cierra didn't do any damage to her leg walking that far in the snow. Y'all be careful okay! Love your dog and cat. We have 8 cats and 5 dogs at this time. A stray dog showed up on Nov. 19th and the phone number on his collar is useless! I hate it when people just drop off their animals, or lose them with no way to get in touch with them when they're found! You guys are in a great spot for people to "lose" their unwanted animals and dump them on you. I'm sure you know that since I believe you said you had been there for a while. Sorry, didn't mean to write a letter! Be careful and have fun! God bless y'all.

Suggestion. Get those stick in the ground outside solar landscaping lights. Take them outside to charge during the day. Bring them in at night to light up your cabin!! Then you won’t be blinding each other with headlamps.

I am doing up my own cabin at the bottom of our garden it's so much fun, sadly my dad passed away and he loved helping me with it so I am aiming to finish the project with local friends

Cierra looked so happy to be there. I'm sure you must have read Richard Louis Proenneke's One Man's Wilderness. If not, you should! I also love reading all the books about being out in the wilderness and how hard they worked for the life they lived. I love watching your videos and wish more young people could realize the peace and joy that a life like this could give them. Yes, it's hard work, but you reap the benefits of the work you put into it. You and Cierra are a joy to watch. May you always be as content as you are now!

I love just pulling the sled in the house. We used to just drag a deer through the house and hang it up in the back room (no windows left) to clean up.

Get some yellow lighting in the cabin instead of the school cafeteria white ones it would be so much cozier 😅

Kyle , its scary how many times you begin to talk about something i have been thinking about and you just did it again. You talked about staying active. I am 63 , retired, living in central Florida in a condo and starting to realize this life is killing me. So , watching your videos is an inspiration to me and i aint kiddin. I have property in the blue ridge mountains and if i stay" active " here for just a few more months, wife and i are outta here. You my friend have been a blessing to me. I would be like a kid in a candy store just to be able to call you my friend. Im not ready for life as far north as you are but the blue ridge mountains have the 4 seasons. So nice to see a young man take care of his love. The one thing I would need there is a bathroom.

Have that HF solar set up, and its great for keeping batteries juiced up. Punch a hole in that tote, put the charge wire through it, put 2 deep cycle batteries in it, caulk the hole, get a 1000w inverter, throw it in there, and that now water-tight setup will likely give you 200Ah of juice. You could then cut up that firewood with a 14" limb&trim electric chainsaw, and give you little juice for your cabin. Love your setup!

Kyle I love your attitude. When you didn't have gas for the chain saw you went to the next option and didn't bat an eye. Most young people would have had a fit and just left the wood until they could get gas. Your channel is amazing! Keep the videos coming.

The sound of the wood when you throw one pice on another tells you that it's good wood. That's a pretty small firebox. How often do you have to stoke it? I love that you are cleaning up the cabin before Cierra arrives. What a good partner!

You're the same age as my youngest grandson. He pitches a fit when he has to make changes. Unlike you keeping your cool and being so sweet to Ciearra, Skeeter, and the kitty. Even the chickens. Wish we could transfer some of your attitude to him. Anyway I love him to the moon and back.

Kyle, your cabin is one of the best I’ve seen, very well built

Martin over on The Northwoodsman1 channel thats all he does - has a few old car batteries and charges them up with his solar and he has done it that way for years - nothing fancy or expensive and it works for his needs - The other thing he has had for years is a old rv fridge that he runs off a propane tank when he is at the cabin, Skeeter should have his own video , say once every couple of months. A simple 3 minute video of his antics
