Although it's too small and hard to access for a proper home, it's very nice as a small camp hut. I know people who can't stand the quiet and aloneness of the place. Fortunately, I'm not one of them. There have been times when I went months without speaking to people, except for rare groceries runs. I'm a hermit type person, so I'm fine with that. I don't hate people, and usually get along well with people when I have to be with them, but I just prefer my own company most of the time.

I find that videos with minimum narrative or no vocals at all can be refreshing. As Rod Stewart once said, "Every picture tells a story".

Man, I would just love to be able to stay in a tree house like that. If I took enough food I could legit just stay there for weeks. Would be so peaceful and relaxing.

I have been to urbanized, couldn't stay in a tree house like this without access to a real and warm toilet.

I was lucky enough to get a deal on a little house with a few acres in the woods and when I assembled enough salvaged lumber I got indulge my inner child with a proper all-season treehouse about this size It doesn't have a stove in it yet though.

When I was a kid I lived in London, and was always surrounded by people. I found a reservoir within reasonable walking distance to my home. It was set in acres of private land owned by the water authority. I would take my fishing rod and get into the land through a hole under the fence, then walk to the reservoir and sit on the bank to fish. It was the first time I had ever experienced real solitude, with no other people in sight. It was so uplifting. Now I live in a rural setting, and spend hours alone in the woods and forests, often sitting with my back against a tree just thinking. It’s like a reset. You come home feeling refreshed and alive. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have enjoyed doing this kind of stuff since I was a child, when it rained I would set up a makeshift shelter in my backyard and watch the rain, my parents never understood this…I now call it tranquility and peace

For me it was some big concrete pipes left in the woods from a construction project. I'd spend most of the day during school holidays in those pipes, mostly dreaming and always with a sketch book to write down my plans. As an old man, I still love the solitude of my house. Sometimes I don;t leave for days.

@@Automedon2 I am the same way, I will stay home for days, if there is a huge snowstorm or rain and thunderstorm I love just watching from the windows, even when my kids were school age I lived when they had a snow day, it was just a free day to do fun stuff around the house…I would build them forts and watch movies and just play games all day

Me too. But now I live in Scotland (in a real stone-built house), and even though it is almost summer here I'm bloody freezing! I'm sitting watching this vid with two jumpers on and a blanket over me wishing I was as warm as you in your thin wooden hut up a bloody tree!!!!

@@kassandra3261 tak samo z #1 i # 2. Mozna podniesc klape i..... :-) :-) "I like the way the floor is being swept- Just open the trap door and trash goes down." Same with #1 and #2 You can just lift the trapdoor and... :-)

I was happy watching this video and then my neighbor came by and we watched it together... it changed our lives. He said that this video touched his heart. We took a projector in a big field and all my neighbors watched it, which changed their lives too... I'm so grateful. Thank you.

Love this! We had a treehouse in our backyard when I was a kid, about 5 years old. Don't know who built it. Already there when we moved in. We would climb up there and be surrounded by apricots!

This is pretty much my life 5 days a week. I have a treehouse in a pretty big forest. I spends the weekdays there and go home on the weekends. It’s a pretty deserted forest I haven’t really seen a soul there in months. But I prefer the solitude anyway.

That’s awesome! Do you own the woods that you built it in? I’ve seen some amazing tiny houses and homesteads on KZread, some with modern amenities and Wi-Fi using 100% renewable energy, and with donated, bargain bin or salvaged equipment. The idea of living peacefully out in the woods is so appealing.

This brings back great memories of a tree house my father made me in the back yard when I was a child. We only had one large tree in our yard, an old apple tree. Needless to say, there was a bee issue but so much fun. It was our Fort and hide out. Yeah, I was weird and played outside.

I find the solitude and quiet comforting. I talk to my dog, she is a good listener and isn't rude.

Alex, I seriously dig the treehouse. Makes me want to build one. I think, though, that a small block and tackle (like hunters use to lift animals for field dressing) might a useful addition rather than just lifting your pack, firewood, and other supplies at the end of that rope. It would even make it practical to process firewood on the ground and lift it in a bag or sling. As always, your videos are a joy to watch. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas!

I like the difference in living underground compared to above ground. The tree house is really cool.

Would it help if you had a thickish steel plate welded or fitted to the top of the fireplace so you can put a small pressure cooker pot on it? It may eliminate the need for so much alternative fuel sources

My dad built me a nice treehouse when i was a kid. I loved that treehouse and remember it like it was yesterday. It had a front porch and everything. I miss those days many years ago. I had a crazy imagination and i remember playing in the treehouse and around it and it was such a magical time to be alive.

What a beautiful tree house! I’d want to stay for a week in such a beautiful refuge.

The only suggestion I would make is to collect as much of that sawdust as you can instead of sweeping it out the door. It makes an excellent fire starter. I love everything else about this, especially the little gray water tank under the sink.
