Awwww thanks so much Vera :-D the cuddly cactus has grown so fast, yesterday the weather forecast was for mild weather but not its forecast just 1c for the next 3 nights, I have had to put the polytunnel heater up to 10c to protect all the plants I moved in yesterday, I thought the worst of the cold nights had gone LOL! thanks so much Vera for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Italy for a fantastic evening XXXX

So happy you loved the vid Daz :-D and yes haha as soon as I moved these cacti out to the polytunnel the night temps sank like a ship and it was -2c last night, it was lucky I turned the thermostat up to 10c for the Pilosocereus, and temps are going to go right up at night from Monday thank goodness, thanks so much Daz for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to England and Singapore for a fantastic Saturday and weekend XXXX

That's great you are able to finally get them out. We have had warm but stormy weather. The states around us have been getting tornadoes and horrible weather!! Oh no with the states around getting Tornadoes Clyde, but thank goodness its been safe and no Tornadoes in Morris Park, thankfully its starting to warm up here now after a wet and windy few weeks in Ireland, and it should be safe to move out all the Euphorbia and other cacti over the next couple of weeks, it feels so good to get moving the indoor plants out and getting the house a bit more cleared haha, thanks so much Clyde for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Deb and all the pets and plants all lots of love and happiness and PEACE, LOVE, PLANTS and PLANT POWER to Morris Park for a fantastic Sunday XXXX

Lyn, I've been catching up on the latest vids with my friend (who loves seeing your collection but doesn't speak English..) and I decided to try the the auto-translate subtitles in Italian.. Well, I couldn't stop laughing when she said she couldn't see the *"hairy birds"* on top of the trichocereus.. 🐦🐦🤣 That's how it translated "hairy buds!" 😂 Booby cactus was translated as an "explosive" cactus.. never knew the auto-translate would bring so many chuckles.. 😅 Enjoy the visits from Hans' daughter and the BCSS.. how exciting!! 🤗❤🥰💚 Much love xx

Here in Tucson Arizona we laugh out loud when we see plants labeled “Full Sun”. The last 2 summers have been 110F everyday for a couple months and even the big Saguaros are feeling it. I’d love a greenhouse with shade cloth. That’s what the cactus nursery’s here use. We keep all our cactus and succulents on the sunny south side but under the awning. They get sun when it comes up for a few hours and a little just before it sets. Anything planted in the yard needs shade cloth until they’re well established, even Saguaros.

Looking fantastic, and very exciting to have visitors to show all the plants to! I was incredibly careful about acclimatising my Trichocereus seedlings to full sun, but I still had a couple get bad sunburn - I think I must have put the un-acclimatised side towards the sun by mistake! 🙂🌵💚

Cacti either just seem to record their growth history in their scars and markings then get on with it, or they meet a mysterious demise to an unknown enemy. Or maybe I just still have loads to learn hahaha!! :-) :-) :-)

What kind of grow light do you recommend for indoor cacti. I am so confused about how many lumens cacti need.

Hi April :-D my favourite Grow lights are by Mars Hydro and Sansi, the Mars Hydro have the light boards that cover a large surface area, and the Sansi grow lights have the bulbs that are great to put over cacti, the Mars Hydro grow lights are fantastic for covering a large area, I am not that knowledgeable about the lumens but if I notice any plants that seem to be getting too much light I move them further away from the height of the the grow lights, I have my grow lights about 3 feet above all my indoor cacti and succulents and they seem to do well, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic weekend XXXX
