I think when this movie is realeased, the comedic parts will be seen as the worst aspect of it, and the thing that will make it or break it for people. The concept--a man wanting to make kids happy during the bleakness time of their lives, only to be then used as a tool to lead them (and himself) to their deaths--is profoundly tragic, and I see it working if framed properly. I'm reminded of the film Life is Beautiful, where a father and son are in a concentration camp, with the father covering up the bleak reality of their situation to spare the boy's innocence. That movie also has some people divided, with the harsher aspects from the real life camps softened to allow the comedic parts to work, and thus diminishing the real suffering that had occured in real camps. Others see it as a movie about maintaining hope, even in the darkest times. I feel like The Day the Clown Cried might be seen in a similar vein, but hard to say until it's actually viewable.

Biggest morons on earth, Billionaires. And most of them can't even treat themselves right. It's not just disregard for other lives; they often don't value their own. Half of them look like they have died years ago, or look 20 years older than they should. From overweight Bill Gates to freak show Elon Musk, and that dude is one of the more normal ones. Yet I cringe when I see that brilliant man in such a wreck of a body, taking pills to lose weight. Pills. Three months with me, and he would be on the road to perfect health and ideal body-composition. :) Generally smart people. But something is missing in those people. Believing that anything can be bought, at any time. Wanting to be rich is a mental disorder for sure. Psychopathic, perhaps?

The guys at Ramon Films in Uganda are some of the most passionate filmmakers I’ve ever seen. When I purchased a couple of shirts and a a DVD copy of Who Killed Captain Alex, they autographed it, sent a stack of stickers and small posters, and drew a picture that they personalized with my name stating that I, in fact, killed Captain Alex. They really care about what they make. Plus, my shirts were hand screen painted in Uganda using house paint. And they’ve held up better than most of my shirts.

Is no one going to mention that Melanie Griffith was the underaged actor who was mauled by a lion and had about 100 stitches and reconstructive surgery, resulting in the slightly asymmetrical look of her face? If you watch the movie, you will see her perfect symmetrical face as a young woman, and after. It's clear that the injury permanently damaged her face. She is still beautiful in my opinion.

About the Coolcat thing. Derek Savage, director of the Cool Cat films, once took down I Hate Everything's review of his film. In short, both IHE and Savage had a war between each other, with IHE calling BS out on Derek, while Savage chose to strike IHE and Yourmoviesuck's videos and make video responses. The issue has since been resolved, so no, Derek won't strike you or your channel down.

Fun fact: Rocko's Modern Life did a spoof on the Empire movie in the "Wacky Deli" episode. Basically Ralph Bighead is forced to create a new show by his contract with the studio. So he hires Rocko, Heifer, and Filburt to create the show and make it tank and bomb so he won't have to work on the new show. However the first episode is a hit, so he takes extreme measures to sabotage the show. Second episode is 30 mins of simply a picture of a jar of mayo. The next episode is simply 30 mins of overexposed film or rather just a black screen. Somehow the audience loves those eps and then Ralph decides to embrace the show and actually work on it and it winds up tanking after that.

Slight correction. John Reynolds, who played Torgo, was a drug addict who actually committed suicide (by gunshot), about a month before the movie premiered. He had struggled with addiction all throughout his life, and was pretty much high constantly during filming. Johns dad was a successful brigadier general, and John never felt he lived up to his fathers expectations. Never heard anything about the"pain" issue, but he was wearing the prostethics backwards during filming. I think his death was more due to his mental issues than anything physical. This comes from Debbie Neyman's blog (listed below). Debbie is the real life daughter of the "Master", Tom Neyman, and is indeed the Debbie from the film. Hal Warren, who produced/directed, was a fertilizer salesman who took a bet that he could make a film on a $20K budget while dining at a restaurant with a friend. He scratched an outline on a napkin in about 20 minutes, and had the script finished the next day. Debbie also participated in 2 other Manos films (which are equally as bad, if not worse). The prequel, Manos: The Rise of Torgo and the sequel, Manos Returns. debbiesmanos.blogspot

It's utterly amazing seeing the special effects that are so bad you can't help but wonder what other options they had and didn't choose. A few films I think are worth mentioning The Fantastic 4 (1994) was never released officially as it was alleged to have been a scam movie made to avoid the film rights from expiring. Ironically it is, in my opinion the most entertaining Fantastic 4 movie made which probably isn't saying much given the reception the other films have recieved. The movie has some meme magic in it but the stars of the show are Dr Doom's mask and gauntlets which together comprise most of Dr Doom's dialogue Damnatus (2008?) A low-budget fan film that's probably familiar to you if you follow WH40K. Despite being finished the film's non-commerical release was canned due to unforseen discrepencies in British and German copyright laws making releasing the film impossible as a business decision. Like the previous film it is, of course, available through other means. Ivan Grozny Part I (1944) was a film commissioned by the big mustache himself. The story that I heard alleged that Stalin thought to liken himself to the genocidal maniac who purged his advisors, paid pagan mercenaries to raze Moscow, created a secret police force to kill and imprison dissidents and reformed government to make himself an autocratic tyrant who slowly slips into illness and paranoid delusions in his later life. Part I was, of course, a critical success that won the Stalin Award. By Part II it appears the irony was beginning to dawn on Stalin and the film was slammed by Soviet press and surpressed only to be released in 1958 after both Stalin and the director, Eisenstein, were dead. We're lucky these 2 films still exist as there was a Part III in production that was halted after the reaction to Part II and allegedly all material related to this film was confiscated and destroyed by the government.

The crew couldn't really controll the mechanical ape arm that Fay Wray lay in for some of the nearer shots, so there was a pretty likely chance that she might get crushed because of a malfunction. Most of the earlier movies were actually really dangerous, especially anything Buster Keaton did.

I love Ed Wood and to me Plan 9 From Outer Space is a masterpiece. By the way, the name was originally to be called Zombies From Outer Space, but the film was financed by a church(!) on the promise that Ed would then make their Bible films they wanted to do. Of course he didn't. But the Church refused to finance a film with the word zombie in the title, so they suggested Plan 9 instead.

The child actress in Roar was Tippi Hedren's daughter, Melanie Griffith. She was a huge actress in the 1980s and 1990s, but may be better known now for marrying both Don Johnson and later Antonio Banderas. The assistant director on Roar was Jan De Bont, who is best known for directing Speed.

I located and downloaded "Roundhay Garden Scene" 1888. As a collector of movies, having the first movie, for me is a must. Thank you. Strangely, I already have a lot of these films in my collection. Oh, and side note: Manos: The Hands of Fate 1966 has THREE sequels, not two. Manos: The Search for Valley Lodge - 2010 Manos: The Rise of Torgo - 2013 Manos Returns - 2016 38:15 Point of clarification, "Spring break was indeed NOT made in 1883 as the commentator states [Re-watched the clip THREE times to verify he CLEARLY says 1883, and did not slur or mumble]. That would make Spring Break, and NOT "Roundhay Garden Scene" the first movie ever made having preceded Roundhay by five years. Wikipedia, Rotten Tomatoes, and IMDB [if they can be believed] all agree it is actually a 1983 release.

1:06 that shot of the toilet isn’t from the Flintstones meet WWE movie. It’s actually from the somewhat obscure tv special Flintstones: On the Rocks. I recognised it since the art style of On The Rocks is a bit more stylised and cartoony compared to the more traditional Flintstones style in the WWE movie.

Using posthumous footage of Bela Legosi in "Plan 9 From Outer Space" in my opinion isn't disrespectful whatsoever. Bela Legosi was very old and was good friends with Ed Wood at the time. Wood originally was going to make a traditional vampire flick with Legosi as the main star before the footage was retrofitted onto a sci-fi horror film.

The white brick wall thing was probably the easiest money the board ever made since he forgot that they watch the films digitally. They can have a graph showing audio while playing the film at whatever speed they want. Ain't the first time they'd get an "experimental" movie to review. You blitz review then go back when needed if there's a noticeable reason. If anything they probably wished more people would "protest" like that. Also how does this iceberg work exactly? How does each tier differentiate?
