He’s come a very long way since recently becoming a father. He’s still struggling but I admire his willingness to try to get better for his baby. He said recently his biggest fear is not being around for his daughter, which is extremely rare to see a man say in this industry. I hope we all pray for him in healing ❤️

So as someone who has actually really come to like Post Malone, I’m very happy Michael really gave this song a chance and really tried to understand it. I feel like in this album he is genuinely exploring the destruction of addiction and the possible salvation that God could offer him. “Threw my bottle at the sky said ‘God that’s a warning.’” This is written to sound pathetic on purpose. It’s kind of sad, but he is gaining such a self awareness. I hope it continues on to great things There’s another song on the album called “Socialite,” dealing with similar issues of addiction and feeling empty in this world of physical satisfaction, and he has this line that says “Fuck me up, it’s only a body. If God exists, it shouldn’t be a problem,” which is, again, a heartbreaking line but it shows how he really is using his music to explore a metaphysical reality to this very secular and physical reality.

I didnt used to be a fan of him during that time. Then I started to listen to some of his songs from Hollywood’s Bleeding and felt something was growing there and it’s only gotten more mature since then. This latest album is definitely exploring the culture he found himself in when he made it big, it’s destructiveness, and how there might be something bigger out there (he references God and the Bible several times throughout, usually in contrast to the negative portrayal of drugs alcohol and addiction in his lyrics) that he’s trying to figure out for himself. Which seems like it could be a very difficult thing to do when, again, the culture he has been immersed in is an active antagonist to this

The only popular (modern) music I've encountered paints 2 contrasting ideas: 1. Party, greed, selfishness, indulgence, (or) 2. Sadness. 🤔 How interesting.
I luv the song MOURNING. IM NOT A YOUNG, LOST PERSON-IM 72 YRS OLD- but I am a retired public school teacher. I have a heart for our young people- music is so important for all of us- but sometimes thats the only way they can FEEL about their life. During the lockdown I had time to listen to young peoples music- I noticed that the sound of the music had a YEARNING, SEARCHING, & CONFUSION FEELING. I START LISTENING MORE. ITS JUST REACHING OUT FOR THE TRUTH. Mourning is very much like the other music Ive listened to. Its saying HELP ME!. With all the Evil that has been going on, it is even more true! As adult's who know the TRUTH, this is a perfect time to reach out to young people. We dont know how to do this cer well- we can be rejected & laughed at . As Catholics, Micheal, we have to pray to God on how we can do this- on our own personal way. 😂
love how the beat keeps playing even as he talks about the song. Made the video flow super smoothly.

Austin is the sweetest most humble human in the industry - probably the planet 🥹 love him and only want good things for him. His writing is beautiful and artistic. People think he’s a druggie or on the verge of not being here and that’s Bull and people need to stop saying that. His music is his therapy and he’s working on overcoming these things. He says “please”, “thank you” etc. which is wild I’m even saying this because it’s called “manners”, my point is: He’s raw, but gentle as fuck 🫶🏼
Can’t help but compare him having to move the ice cube to Sisyphus moving his rock uphill. At the end, he puts the ice cube in the glass, similar to the rock sliding back down the hill.
thanks for not ruining a song I like Michael. Good vid!

I love Post Malone idc what anyone says Stoney was a masterpiece and he is honestly just a good guy he booked a show in my small town right before he blew up and it was just awesome that he didn’t cancel it for a bigger venue.
I love Posty, just saw him in concert on Sunday and he puts on such a great show, as well as spreading love and positivity at his show
I love that you bring a different perspective on this- because I would have just taken it as it’s all about drugs/alcohol and withdrawal and trying to kick dependency. It’s a little ray of hope that not everyone does or has done this stuff (at least not to a self altering point) so their minds don’t automatically go there.
Love his music, love this song and I loved this genuine review from someone who’s not familiar with PM’s work.
Autotune is evil.
"God thats a warning" he's both trying to challenge god and warn god, but also he knows this feeling he gets is a warning from god. Its a reference to a warning both to and from god. God always wins
I am a fan of post malone, I see him as a genuine guy struggling with everyday problems
Post Malone and Justin Bieber are my favorite guys vocally speaking. They have some songs that have teleported me to some part of my soul I didn’t know needed attention. I pray for this man…especially that he stays true to himself!
Post is a genuine person
The irony of how he is trying to push the giant ice cube aside in the middle of a sunny day when the sun could melt it, might be an analogy for how God's grace, the Son of God, could help him overcome his struggles. He eventually goes for it with a flame thrower (works) and it is great that he is being proactive in trying to overcome his problem. But you can see that in that situation it is dark. The sun is gone. And he is still pushing this tiny ice cube with all his might... Because when you try to do it by yourself and without surrender to God, the weight of your sin is still heavy, and the cycle begins again...
