@@12thMandalorian Chelsea are more likely to get relegated than win the league in the next 10 years with the way they are heading, it doesn’t matter if Arsenal are good or not at that point. Besides, I’m pretty sure Pep’s leaving in ‘25 (I think Man City will have a similar first season to Man U’s 13/14 after Pep leaves) which will give Arsenal an opportunity to snatch it in ‘26.

"bottling" isn't a supernatural energy, once you have different players, a different manager and a different structure in the club then what came before that doesn't matter. One only has to look at how Rice immediately fitted into Arsenal's midfield and has has been their best player in many games. That's what a £100m signing is supposed to look like, no nonsense about potential and speculation as to what they could do under x manager.

In the last 7 years, the only time Arsenal finished above Chelsea was last season where you bottled the league. Finishing 2nd after having lead at the top with 8 points until the last 8 games or so is no testament of a potential winner. Win it first and then you can claim you have a better chance

Sam is looking at it from Chelsea's track record of always bouncing back from a proven worse season to win something major the next season (2016, 2021) You and the original comment point of view is based on Arsenal's performance last season. Both are valid in the sense that at least they are based on something both clubs have shown. If you believe what he is saying is waffle, then the same can be said about your comment and the original comment. This is also the reason why i said until Arsenal have won and proven Sam wrong to think Chelsea would win the league before Arsenal, no one can actually claim he is wrong to say what he said.

As a Chelsea Fan, I’d take Rice. He has always been my dream signing. I think he is so much better than people give him credit for. To have a player to help out in both boxes on crosses as well is very much an asset which Caicedo will never offer. Rice’s leadership and personality injected in to a team is also well underrated. Defensively in open play I do rate them about the same. Build up, same. I rate Caicedo’s move to a big club much sooner as an advantage of potentially having bigger career. But Rice plays for England which has given him that big game experience with world class players.

Costing over £100m is all that was required of Caicedo. If Chelsea were interested in producing performances, theres no reason they can't do it

As a Chelsea fan it’s clearly rice but what I would say last year caicedo was 20 turning 21 and was one of the best midfielders in the league. Rice at that age was a good player but caicedo is better compared to rice at that age. I can see caicedo being better in 2-3 years.
