🦉📖 . . .You had high hopes for this camping trip, but so far your every expectation has been exceeded. The weather? Spectacular. The food? Abundant. The group? Laughing and getting along, playing cards and games, cooking and joking around the fire late into the night. Today, the sky seems especially blue and brilliant, and you slip away as the others are settling in for after-lunch snoozes and dips in the lake. You're not sure where you're headed, but you feel like walking, so you start to skirt the edge of the lake, knowing that you'll eventually end up back where you started. You walk for a long time, allowing this rare moment of silence away from the others to wash over you...and realizing that the silence is anything but. Your ears begin to pick up all sorts of sounds, like a picture coming into focus: chattering birds, the ripple and splash of the water, the insistent breeze and the accompanying rustling of grass. You come out from under some trees and stop short, spellbound. Your campsite doesn't have a view of this mountain, but here it is in all its glory, a dusty purple against the blue sky, with veins of last year's snow streaking down its craggy sides. Its stillness and magnitude, towering about the evergreen-covered hills, leaves you in awe. You stare for a long time before turning back. You have to bring the others to see this. First of all, I'm very flattered by your words Mindy! You want to know my secret? I read a lot. I've been telling stories and writing since I was very little. I'm also addicted to learning new skills. I've been using CBN to teach myself audio and video editing for several years and if you look back at my early videos you'll likely notice some substantial improvement. Before creating this channel I was working as a graphic designer. I'm trying to bring all my skills together in this project and it makes me happy to know that someone appreciates what I'm doing. 💚

Your comment reminded me of a time I went camping. Our first camp spot we found was in a secluded area on bear river, no one around, great spot, at night it was so quiet, all you could hear was the sound of the river and nature. The next day my husband decides he wants to go to a different lake and new camp spot, so we go to Strawberry reservoir. WORST DECISION EVER. There were lots of people around and all you could hear at night was people partying and music. I’d prefer the sounds of nature over the sounds of people any day.

It's so true

I've been using this video and others like it to help cope with living in a major city that I now regret moving to. It's always loud, busy and just never calms down. After a long day at work, I come home, shower, make dinner and then pop in my airpods and shut out the world. I'll listen to this the rest of the evening in the background and either read a book or some news surrounding my favorite hobbies and simply relax. Thank you for making these videos. They're helping greatly to get back to the simple quiet peace I miss and hope to get back to soon enough.

Born/raised Oregon, looks like Mt. Hood and one other lakes near it maybe trillium lake. Been there countless times.

This is so realistic it brought back childhood memories of camping that I had forgotten! Sitting at the lake while my dad fished and my friend and I hunted for frogs/tadpoles 🐸 (no frogs were harmed, we were taught to look, not touch)

I lived in mt. Shasta for a long time. The Shasta volcano looks a lot like this one. This could be mt lassen or the volcanoes up in Oregon. Anyways my town was situated on the foothills of the volcanoe at a distance similar to where this camera is setup. I really miss McCloud CA. A little old mill town that once had its day.

I believe it’s Mt Hood & Trillium lake. I lived in Sandy, OR near Mt Hood and worked up at timberline for a little over a year. It’s a beautiful sleepy town. I moved around 3 hours away about two years ago so this was truly beautiful being brought back. I need to go back soon. 💛

My guess is that it's Trillium Lake on the east side of Mt. Hood, OR. It's a familiar view on postcards if you're from around here. Does not make it any less beautiful!

I grew up in the city and loved the times we would go on a overnight camping/fishing trip.As a kid I would walk along creeks for hours.Now at 58 I just want to hike around this lake and right on up that mountain and beyond..Look out Bigfoot here I come..

I'm imagining these are really wonderful for people in the city and those who are disabled and miss getting out into nature. I'm fortunate to live in the Redwoods on the river and just a stone's throw from the ocean. But I still find myself turning these videos like yours on from time to time. I sometimes play some music over nature sounds. I've been recording the Redwoods and ocean for over 15 years and have a pretty vast collection of my own. These are nice, great work.

This looks like a nice place, It's a really pretty place and I love this place. It's a beautiful day outside, The sky is clear, There isn't a cloud in the sky and The weather is great. Oh my goodness look how beautiful, like seriously I'm being for real here. A great area to live, is it ever. I could just see it now. Have a nice little cabin here, also sitting on the front porch early in the morning while drinking my coffee, watching the sunrise and a nice blue sky with white clouds Plus on top of that, listening to the wildlife sounds. Also sitting on the porch right before it gets dark while the Sun's going down and the moon and stars shining bright in the night time, how great that would be. Also by living in the area like this, peaceful and relaxing, peace of mind plus a great place to do meditation and being cut off from the world. I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all but there's just too many people in this world are mad, it seems like they'd rather have violence and crime more than anything. I could do without that madness. Love seeing great stuff like this on KZread, thanks for sharing it with us all we all do enjoy it

These vids may be just a little short, Mr. Owl. You might time them to work with REM sleep [90' +/-], so two or three REM cycles = 3 or 4.5 hours, resp. It is at these points that a person is awakened, internaly, by their dreams. perfect time to end this very nice ambient video.

With my air conditioner on, I am unable to hear this video, unless I am able to be at my pc with my corded earbuds. Even with my pc and KZread volume UP All The Way! :)

It's a quiet one for sure. It sounds like you already have whitenoise the AC.

Is this Oregon or Washington? Kinda looks like Mount Saint Helen but it could be Mount Rainier or I could be wrong altogether. The birds just sound familiar.

yes it's oregon. the mountain is mt hood

@@CalmedByNature Yes mount Hood I forgot about that one. I play this and it draws the birds in to the big pine tree out my apt. window and gives the cats something to look at. I knew the birds sounded familiar. Thank you for the video I play it on loop its been helping with quarantine that we have to be in. My one cat and I love to go camping and hiking. I'm dying to get back out. Hope you guys are staying safe wherever you're at.

@@CalmedByNature well I'm really good at people's voices as well just a thing I have, like I could hear somebody's voice and not remember their name but I can pair that boys with a face even if I just met the personal and only heard them talk for like 15 minutes. I was homeless for a while so I camped out in a little GI pup tent me and my older cat she kept the rats away. Laying in that little Woodlawn camouflage pump tent listening to the birds become some of the best days I've ever had in my life being homeless, just the freedom I being a nomad.🐱
