I went to the intercontinental divide like 10 years ago and a family of these came nuzzling up to the whole lot of us on the trail. I'm sure they're not always this friendly, but there wasn't much we could do to stop them, it was their trail.

I love these guys! They mean so much to the heritage I’m tied to, so fantastic 🥹 I used to watch these guys climb the mountains as I live in northern bc, such a lovely gift. My grandpa also has incredible stories of these guys 🥹😭

I just wanted to let the person that we see in the video (don't know if they are the one that runs the channel, too) know that,: I find your whole presence, from the way you talk, your mimics and gestures, your accentuation and also your looks (style) very, very pleasant and also somewhat wholesome. i live in the north west, i remember going on roadtrips as a kid and looking out the car window as we drove on a mountain road. I could see distance white goats walking along the mountain side opposite us. So cool!

I remember driving to the top of Mt. Evans in CO (a 14er) and these dudes were just chillin up there with their babies just hanging out with all the visitors 😁 they're awesome

These things are insanely musclebound. It's like they're completely built for their super specialized for their environment.

Fun video. Brings back memories of hiking in Glacier Park. I did a day hike one summer and near the end of the “in” trip was a nanny and 2 kids on the trail. She was actually letting people take pictures and pet the kids! Disturbing but cool at the same time

Mountain goats are easily my favorite animal and it was great learning about them.

2 years ago while I was backpacking in the pasayten wilderness, I had a mountain goat walk right up to within 10 feet of me to check me out, when I reached for my camera it took off like a bat out of hell. It was a cool experience.

Stunned you didn't mention their addiction!! 🤣 Although it might not be suitable material... Its worth noting. That they are addicting to a psychedelic lychen that grows on rocks/boulders high up the mountain. They actually have worn their teeth down from the rocks the lychen grows on, not from their regular diet. They've been known to fall trying to get to it! Hey at least addiction isn't uniquely human 😂

They seem like they’re actually physical forms of nature spirits of the mountains. With their strange hybrid-animal-like appearance and seemingly impossible ability to climb and stand on any kind of surface.

Agree with you, there is a place near Bangalore, that name translated means "Goat crossing point" which is a small river valley separated by 10 mts.There is a story that says when a tiger attacked a goat on one side it jumped to the other side escaping the tiger.

Rock climbing shoes actually make your foot more hoof like in several ways, more compact and ridged with a defined edge to make the most of tiny horizontal surface area of little ledges and divets in rock. Bracing the toes together means the whole force of every muscle in your foot can be used on a tiny point.

These creatures are so amazing, but it can be pretty difficult to find them. Very rarely do you find any Mountain Goat on lower land. They have such great abilities that amaze me. Just like Bighorn Sheep, Dall Sheep, or Stone Sheep, they are all incredible, and pretty animals. The best Mountaineers ever!!!!

I wish my feet would have evolved into construction boots so I can go up and down ladders. Being a roofer for 30 years my feet never evolved into something like that. I guess I need another 100,000 years
