Thanks Martin; a good honest review on the tyres; The Honda Transalpine is a great bike and I did want one but just too bloody high in the saddle. I now have one bike and it does all that I want to do, day ride, weekender and touring ; David....Adelaide....Triumph Scrambler 1200X 2024...one bike for all.

Thanks for your timely review! I am just in the process of considering tire upgrades for my new Transalp, and the GPS's were on my short list. Cheers!

I wouldn’t put the gps on the front. A great rear tyre but if you’re doing any dirt they aren’t the best option imo.

GPS rear tyre is very good both on and off road, the front on the other hand is ok as new but it loses all grip off road as it wears and i had to replace it before the rear went out. This is why so many uses DV as front.

On my second set after 14k from the first rear. Great tyres, trying "off rd" direction this time. Mainly because I never never ever ever want to be a "one direction" guy.

Given that I ride conservatively, as good in the wet as anything I have used before. The change in rotation has been of little impact. Maybe a little more drive on loose surface and feels the same everywhere else.

How much did they slug you to supply and fit them? I went for the dual venture on the front as I like more grip in the dirt and I’m happy to compromise on the road, but I’m happy with them on the road too. Gps in 50/50 on the rear is still very capable off road too.

@@HardPackedADV GC cycles in Nailsworth are probably the best in Adelaide. Wrong side of town for you if course. I think I paid closer to $500 for mine, with tubes.

I just put a GPS on the back and a Dual Venture on the front of the 1250GS. They get good reviews, so we'll see how they go over time :)
