Yep in this van did about 1,000,000 miles with no problem! The first tuneup was at 200,000 miles, so you got your moneys worth

I have a 1993 Previa LE not supercharged. It still runs well at 290K miles and gets 21 mpg on average. The space age design makes it unique to this day.

My down the street neighbors when I was a kid had early non-supercharged Previa. They had it for like 20 years. Their other car was an 84-ish (1st gen) Camry four door hatch in two-tone blue. Both unusual choices, didn't see many of either of those.

I had neighbors up the street with that same Camry configuration. I loved seeing it until they moved away.

This car and the Cressida are the reasons why Toyota had to sell more Lexus’. The fancier name validated the price. This van crawled so the Lexus RX could walk.

The acceleration gains are substantial, but man, it would’ve been hard to justify even back then spending more and still getting over 10+ secs 0-60. Might as well stick with the base engine, especially given the gas mileage

I believe you could get these with the supercharged engine and a 5 speed stick, which probably shaved off at least a second from the 0-60. But agreed with the other comments here, this is one expensive van!

Never thought Toyota was cool enough to supercharge a minivan

The original supercharged mid-engined all wheel drive minivan. Distant cousin of the MR2. 😂 At least Toyota made some interesting vehicles back then.

i have my 94 previa not a supercharged but at 340k miles and some small rust holes hes still a beast and still gets 21 highway

I still miss mine everyday. I had a 92 DX with AWD. I removed the front driveshaft in the summer months for better fuel mileage, and reinstalled it in the winter for traction. Hands down the most fun you can ever have in a van.

@@kurticusmaximus original engine, transmission has been replaced 1 time as i rocked it in snow one year and blew out seal messing something up inside original. replaced seal on original one and it slipped when i pressed the gas but worked ok, original went out again in 2019 when i was living in california going up a hill, had it replaced with a 93 transmission/transfer case, been fine so far and ive learned my lesson. i keep an eye on it tho

Actually really nice for a 1994 model. Makes me want to buy one now.

My dad had a 93 base model previa for 15 years until we sold it and he told me he wanted the supercharged one but it was way too expensive so we stayed with the original. But i never knew it was that expensive

Did they really open the hood to show us the "engine?" WTF that was just an air box and fluid reservoirs was it that hard to get to the actual engine? Wasn't there some access under the driver seat?

Almost nothing is from those years. Even the volvo's that started production begin 90's lacked frontal offset crash safety
