Don't even consider buying this mount! The mounting plates are aluminum, but the latching lever/locking lug mechanism is plastic. I'm not sure if the locking lug itself is plastic, because it's on the bottom of the lake. My boat was slammed into the dock during a storm, and the latch and the locking lug snapped right off, and the whole motor went overboard, hanging on only by the power cord.

If you would index the motor to the next set of hole foreword you could use the set back feature of that plate

I have an Xi5 already installed on my boat. I'm thinking of installing the quick release, my question is, does the quick release use the same mounting points at the Xi5 or will I have to drill more holes?

I realize that this is a quick release and allows one to take the motor off. However, if I rent a slip in a marina for the night, I would prefer to leave the motor on and not lug it back to the room. Does anyone have a good way to secure the motor? The metal tightener on the side of the mount has a hole for a lock or something but the hole is so small that I am not sure what type of quality lock would even fit. Thanks

I have the same question but can't seem to find the answer. My only thought is to get a pad lock that will fit around shaft and chain it to the bow eye. Not a clean look but should work.

This video is missing a problem 90% of boats have. The bow mounting surface needs to be level for this video to work. If the bow is at all curved/sloped (as many are) you will need to custom mold from Epoxy resin a shim for the mounting "Puck" to sit level on. Otherwise.... your trolling motor will not be level and function efficiently.

Here's an objective view of all this Pro bass boat mess (I'm in my first tournament, old time fisherman, but new to all this tournament mess): I've never seen such a junk mess òf wiring as on friend's $85,000 boat. His is a 2018 model. Wires have come loose, his trolling motor broke today while out practicing, gauges not working right, on and on... lucres are flowing out of his account, and he seems to think this is normal. He makes a very good living fishing, many sponsors, but whew, I'd never put up with such low quality! I won't name the boat make, but it's one of the most popular for pros. Starting price for his, without jackplate, and about $15,000 of òther stuff he needed was $73,000 of low quality in my opinion.
