Hello everyone I hope this video was helpful. This is part 1 of a 2 part install. The other video will consist of how to install a 36v battery system. Please help me by liking and subscribing, it is free to you and helps me get into the youtube algorithm.Thanks Paul
*Great little trolling motor **enjoyable.fishing** recommend had it hooked up to my 15 foot old town canoe and it pushed it pretty good with me and my son (220 pounds each).*

yes sir, those anchors around here have thick mud on them too.
I am about to install this exact setup this weekend and your video gives me the confidence to do the job right the 1st time. Thank you. I have the Ultera on my other boat and look forward to see what the Xi5 can do. Sounds way quieter than the Ultera.

For saltwater it really is a great trolling motor. A 60 amp circuit breaker is required. A 50amp will trip at full speed. Thank you for the comment brother.
Looks good my friend 👍

Keep your eye out for deals. I got an awesome clearance price from the bass pro website. Got their 36v 60" shaft Xi5 with both the remote and foot pedal for $1,499 (1,599 plus a $100 rebate.). There is a local shop that sells refurbished interstate group 29 deep cycles for 40 bucks each. So for about 1,620 + tax I was up and running. If course I still bought a quick release mount, breakers etc so it does still add up a bit lol.

@@251reeling9 I got very lucky. They sold out online in about 20 minutes. right place at the right time I guess.
Enjoy your videos. Can you share how you installed the Jet Technologies bracket? I just got mine from my dealer with no instructions.
Just bought a boat with this setup the previous owner had mounted it straightforward and back down the middle of the boat looking to put it on the side like you did I however have nav lights in the way that I will move I noticed your boat has no bow mounted navigation lights how did you pull this off not sure the coast guard would approve
Great video thanks for posting. The bracket that you had from IMC how are the legs attached to your deck? It appears that it is 3/4" king starboard material.

the bolts on each side go through the top plate through the side plate and through the hull of the boat. Long bolts all the way through
Hey Man, good job. Thanks from Germany for sharing. I thought maybe you put a little rubber piece where that NEMA cabel was to make sure there is no open space for Water to get to the elektronics.

Hey, great tutorial, it is super helpful. I would like to ask for one favor, could tell what are the dimensions of this big plastic bracket that comes on top/inside (You holding it in hand on 6:50) quick release smaller bracket? Can't find any info and i would like to prepare mounting before buying one. Cheers

great job. how did you get the motor mount - was it custom made by jet technologies to fit your bow and how did you get them to make it. thanks for posting.

The mount came from lmc marine in Houston where I bought the boat but you can build your own.
I want to make a similar lmc mount for my boat. In one of your replies you indicated the lmc mount is acrylic. Is it actually acrylic or is it starboard? Also, is it 3/4" thick material or 1" thick? Thanks!
@251reeling9

starboard and yes
How can I get one of thoses brackets that you have mounted on the boat before you started this project? I have a fiberglass boat and I need something similar to it. I would appreciate any help. Please and thank you.
@251reeling9

You can have one made all it is is 3 pieces of acrylic cut to fit the bow with holes drilled through it. I DID GET MINE FROM LMC MARINE OUT OF HOUSTON TX. YOU WILL NEED SOME LONG BOLTS OF COURSE.
Hello.. Great video btw.. question and/or clarification. You mentioned the space between the motor column and rub rail is 1.5" but MG Manual states .5". Granted 1.5" is safer but just wanted check. Also, I noticed you didn't use the rubber isolators which is suggested to use unless motor is mounted on carpeted boat. Wonder why it was left off. Thanks in advance.

If you are mounting straight to fiberglass or straight to your aluminum deck yes you should use isolators. A friend of mine that works in a boat shop recommended the 1.5 due to the fact i will occasionally be in swells and chop. I have a 76 inch shaft.
