Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Turning a motorcycle left isn’t a problem for most riders, but what about doing it in traffic? What about that guy in the car or truck that doesn’t see you on your bike? What’s the best way to avoid getting hit by other drivers making turns? Check out this video where I give you advice and pointers on how to best navigate traffic making left hand turns.

I have a strobing light (think bicycle) on top of my helmet. It has saved my butt so many times. It doesn't make them think I'm flashing lights at them to let them go because the light is on top of my head. I notice a huge difference between people pulling out in front of me when I wear the light vs when I don't. Also, I never trust eye contact, they can easily be looking through me and not at me.

These are some of the techniques that I have learned to use with my sidecar. You would think that I'd have an advantage because of the size of a sidecar, but I still have the occasional near misses.

Good video. If someone had taught me all this good info 40 years ago there's a chance I might not walk with a limp today.

There is another reason for you as, a biker, to be in position 3 while waiting to turn left. Many times a bus will be coming from your right to turn left. Because of their size, sometimes they have no choice but to make a short left turn. Also, watch out for those 18-wheelers. The trailer never follows the same path as the tractor. Good video!

Question for you does your full face helmet fit under the seat in your ADV 150? Thanks

No. Honda kinda lied about that feature. Only 3/4 size will fit.

@@GasWorksISO thanks, I was thinking the same thing. I’m able to fit under the seat a NEXX open faced helmet that has a clear pull down shade and a dark tinted smaller shade that’s activated by a slide switch on the outer left side of the helmet.

My Harley has been converted to all LED, with some extra lights both front and rear to increase my visibility, but I still ride as though they can’t see me. My Monkey’s lights are all stock, so I ride it as though I’m invisible even more so… perhaps even to the degree that the other drivers do actually see me and are actively and obsessively TRYING to kill me. Again, glad to see you’re back putting out videos.

I have a question. I was in a left hand turn lane, the number one position, front position, making a left turn where there was a green arrow onto a one lane cross street A motorcycle came into the lane directly next to my passenger door and waited for the light to turn green with me, in the same lane. I had never seen this before, but was mindful of his presence . Once we began the turn, he sped up to turn in front of me and as we entered the cross street, a car pulled partway onto the street from a parking lot on the right side about 50 yards in front of us, enough to make him concerned enough to turn left sharply in front of me and brake. I almost hit him from behind as I had to brake abruptly to not hit his rear tire. It made me think that turning in the same lane next to me is not only a really bad idea, But is it legal? Shouldn't he have been behind me or in front of me like the cars are?

That’s called lane splitting or lane sharing. As far as I know it’s only legal in one state, that being California. It’s common throughout the rest of the world though. What happened after the turn is entirely his lack of foresight, and put others at risk. He will eventually become a statistic. Riders like that take risks that get people hurt, all the while blaming others when they crash. To shorten this up, he’s an idiot.

Its called lane filtering when on an intersection vehicles are stopped or going under 10mph a motorcycle can go to the front and its legal in Utah and Arizona aside from CA. This is done to avoid motorcycles from being rear ended when they’re stopped behind a car on an intersection and another car coming from behind doesn’t see them. Once the light goes green you’re supposed to make the motorcycles go first.

I think vehicles see bikes more than people think because..cars just blend in with other cars but a smaller object catches the eye. Kinda like seeing a dog or animal in the road and definitely would spot a turtle quickly
