I don't ride bikes, but anything that involves engineering is always interesting to watch.

Sold my Griso when I suspected it was getting close to needing a clutch. Glad I did. This repair will likely cost more than a new bike. Also there are no Moto Guzzi mechics

Good engines but a lot of work to replace one clutch.

especially when you think about the time it takes for a certain bikes, is less time than this video itself. it is like one cover 5 bolts off then back on..

I have to do an even worse shit Soon. Clutch dosnt disconnect anymore.... i think i need to pull out the CARC Swingarm and than get the whole Engine with Gearbox out of the Frame. I hope that this makes it easier.

@@Deetroiter Absolutly shitty..... Put the whole bike on a Crane and pulled out Swingarm, Gearbox and Engine at once. I then realised that the Clutch Cylinder mounted at the end of the Gearbox presses on a push rod and that presses against the clutch. The push rod is a two peace system with a main bearing so the foward part that connects to the clutch can spin while the rear part stays still. So now the bearing brke and the rear part also got the rotation and so... the Clutch Cylinder also rotated becouse its push rod did.... And than... the rotating piston of the clutch cylinder simply stuck in its Housing so u wasent able to press the clutch.

Have you got any pics or videos of this job? I am afraid to have the same issue. I was hoping the rod get damaged and when replacing realised it is the same lenght as a new one.

@@michaelslawinski6449 It tourned out to be an bad disconnect bearing within the rod. That way the end of the rod also started spinning and therefor the clutch actuation cylinder taht is screwed at the end also rotated and simply stuck. The Clutch was compleatly fine it just was thet bearing within the rod and the cylinder.

It's no different to a BMW GS, they're still using the same concept. Thanks for watching and commenting ☺👍

Damn, you clearly don’t know anything about guzzi… Handmade Bikes each numbered and badged not sold in massive quantities because it’s acquired taste and you don’t have it, keep riding those soulless non characterful same engine type as the other 3 big Japanese companies in japan, I have a 2003 R1 and absolutely hate it! Will never buy a Japanese inline 4 ever again in my life🤮 the most boring engine I’ve ever heard/rode, I rather have a real “Gentleman’s bike” not no damn Harley! And this engine has been made for 100+ years and the Japanese just hoped on the inline 4’s back in the 80’s so that should tell you something already and the guzzi is easy to repair myself, go read some facts before you just comment straight bs you don’t know about 😂 your smoking crack if you think it’s a lemon bike and expensive to repair

@@melsmotors Well, BMW redisigned the engine so that the clutch can be placed at the front, which makes maintenance a lot easier. Ducati redesigned their turing bike so that it has less maintenance. Guzzi on the other hand keeps using the same old design, high viscosity oil, single in/out valves, and so on
