Mick was always a tone guy. His tone on the first two Motley albums always blew me away! Even his clean tone on "Danger", still to this day, one of my favorite Motley songs. The lyrics, the sound of it, Tommy's drums, Nikki's slamming bass. No question, my favorite Motley song. When it goes from the verse into the chorus, Nikki is slamming his bass. And let's not forget Mick's awesome melodic solo...

Easily, EASILY one of my top 5 favorite songs ever! And it is my favorite Crue song, just a heavy, heavy riff, and it's got that Accept feel to it, or Accept has this feel, either way, killer killer song, and heavy lyrics too! And it's based on a specific experience they had with the L.A. police. Nice brother!! Thanks man!!

I have wondered lately. Its known that Nikki "wrote" these songs, but how much did Mick change stuff riff wise ? or did Nikki just bring a melody and lyrics and Mick go from there ? I wouldnt think Sixx's guitar skills are developed enough to create these riffs from scratch ? And thats not a knock against Nikki, but Mick is a beast as we all know.

Hey Mike, how have you been brother? Yeah, it really is a smokin' riff, got that "ball to the wall" vibe to it, and I've always thought Nikki was a great songwriter, this song in particular has great lyrics. And the fact that it is true story about a very specific encounter they had with the L.A. police makes it that much cooler! Be good my friend...

Mike, thanks for your vids, I am a beginner who has picked up and then put down the guitar for the last 20 years. Finally getting serious and your lessons help. I have been using D'Adario Heavy jazz strings but they are hard to play, (Dave Mustaine used these years ago) what brand and gauge do you recommend for me, Mustaines brand is now GHS progressive .010-.052 are these good, and easy to play?. My axe isn't great, Peavy if that matters. Thanks I would appreciate your input.

Its not a lesson, but I got a vid you can check out. Its not too difficult a song, its a lot like Knock Em Dead Kid. Actually, you'll see that a bunch of Motley songs from that era are quite similar in the guitar parts. Keep Your Eye on the Money is another one... I'm sure Mike will get around to this song eventually. Till then, maybe I can help.
