Most Underrated LFO Module // Clep Diaz Overview
Музыка
Yes i said it, LFO of the year... even though it came out in 2017!
I think this is the most underrated eurorack module ever. Why doesn't everyone have one these?

I enjoy your modular videos a lot and love that you focus on stuff that might fly under the radar for most people. I did not know how cool CD was until this video!
13:18 the essence of this video
I was vibing so hard during this demo. Every time you went "oof", I felt that.
Dude, I just got it in today! All because of you and this video! What a great module and i was hurtin for LFOs before. Thanks for all the great content. You've helped me get into modular and feel comfortable doing it.
i can’t stop watching these vids! i love how you get sucked into the synth 🤣 very relatable
Love this module! Took me a while to fully understand it but once I did it's endless fun. The BOC and CV mute features are ace! Pairs well with the Worng Vector Space. Nice to see you covering this Enrique
9:50 was insane to me. Something about that deep sub with those tiny mouth-like pops really got me grooving. Awesome video!
Awesome modulatrix :-) I finally need to put my CD to work. Love how you work the BIA which is another real golden module!
THIS WILL BE MY FIRST LFO MODULAR
I love your videos! It’s like hanging out with a friend. Thanks!
Bought the Cd because of this video, and every day it justifies the purchase more and more in my setup.
Proving once again, less is more. Great stuff. Thanks
that patch sounds quite a bit like a dfam by moog - really love your videos keep up the dopeness!
thanks much, enrique. this was really helpful shizz.
Man, this just sounds too good! 👌
That’s how you open a wormhole! Pretty sick bro!
Gettin an early kraftwerk feel with this. Whatta beaut.
Pretty sick, dude!
Got this module just because of this video and I AM LOVING IT!!! However, after playing around with it, it feels more like a function to me than a LFO, haha ^^ So flexible!
Since you're into that WMD filter, you might also enjoy their DPLR delay for your small case. Great sounding stereo delay in 4hp, with some cool added features. Takes modulation really well. 👍🏻
You managed to make a gabber kick and acid bass out of a single voice, that’s impressive
Really want to hear a jam sesh with these modules... sounds rad
This MMF filter sounds amazing with the BIA! Might get one to to exactly that.
9:18 sounds so insane!
Thanks for this video! I got bitten by the NE bug recently, had no idea what the Clep Diaz was about and I was absolutely unaware it could complement Maths and Stages.
I basically bought one on the strength of this vid, loving it :)
So dope!
Very useful,thank you from France.
I just brought one of these thanks to this! 😁
strangely, this video sold me the BIA :)
Awesome!
Agreed about NE cv modules. They’re so interesting and good. Personally I jive with their voice modules, but have a bunch of their stuff in my system.
That beat at 13:30.. NICE! Can listen to that for a long time. I’ve got the BIA, ordered a Clep, can’t wait for this madness.
Agree! Great lil module that crushes!

It’s insane how much functionality Noise packs into basically no HP.

@@jeanbonnefoy1377 yeah I have fat fingers not sure if the tiny modules work for me. Same with the Erica Pico Synth modules. Guess big case is way to go for me.
Ricky, man... try this... get your hands on a Temps Utile and a Noise Engineering Mimetic Digitalis. Set up the Temps Utile to give you a few channels of Euclidean gates, resets, and even logic based on comparing two Euclidean gates. Between those two modules is 18HP of rack space. But the modulation capabilities are insane, especially if you keep what you have in this skiff. I love Euclideans and other schemes like that because I can concentrate on relationships rather than programming in specific rhythmic patterns.

Digitalis definitely worths the money. It’s not just a sequencer but more like a 4 layer voltage matrix where you can go where you please, as soon as you have enough triggers :)

Thank you Ricky, one of the very best vids of its kind, so clear and instructive while just having a good time. I just ordered two CDs myself!
i have a pavlovian response to your voice, every time i hear it I want to buy things
that's some squelchy goodness
Man! That little box you have looks like a lot of fun. Makes me wish I had seen this when I was still doing Eurorack. I was so aimless and lost when it came to putting my case together. Eventually grew frustrated and sold it all.
This is actually my favorite module in my case right now. I like to use it with a filter so make a kind of pad out of the resonance self oscillation over like 4-8 bars. The reset input is what makes this thing a beast imo.

Still one of my favourite vids, and wondering why i waited so long to get Clep Diaz into my rack .i must be crazy !
really cool
Didn’t understand a lot of that but still awesome.
Too damn cool... I may just have to build a...
Very interesting
I totally agree with your view on Noise Engineering modules. They seem overwhelming and weird. But with some research you can find some real gems in there. It's just that the benefits of some of there modules are not immediately obvious.

And they are aesthetically ugly bordering on childish in terms of design. Super confusing looking, and just plain ugly which is what keeps me from buying them
8:59 oh God damn! when you find a sound that hit juuuust right.
I have only a single NE module in my system - Mimetic Digitalis sequencer. Damn, it’s so deep! But sadly it is also quite power hungry, so I’m struggling using it i my powerbank friendly setup.
nailed that at 13.30 cuz
killer little config
funky.
Dude. Mimentic digitalis. Get one, best modulation source / sequencer I've ever used.
Hi Ricky, great video! Does it remember your length selection on power cycles or do you start from scratch?
What case/power and modules are you using? Love your compact modular setups! Can you link your setups to modular grid for us? So inspiring.Question: why are you using two Clep Dias LFOs?
Totally agree about NE and not digging the sound sources, but the modulation sources and utility modules are some of the best. I keep buying more of their stuff.
Fresh trim my man
You could kind of almost play a whole gig with just this little box.

Pretty sure it’s in the Guinness book for most underrated LFO
Cool!
Yo Ricky you should check out the Cursus of you want to try the less harsh NI sound sources. It can be pretty subtle and sweet.
1:35 I kept thinking my Facebook window was bugging out lmao
Love it! Which case are you using?

Erica synths Pico case
Look into Ornament & Crime 8HP. There is a custom firmware called "Benisphere" that includes Clep Diaz and Mimetic Digitalis, just virtual and you can mix and match 2 instances on a single o_c module. I have 2x O_C in my case now and they cost about as much as a single Clep Diaz. Better value, cause they have 30+ other interesting modes to play with if you wanna do something else.

I want to learn how to do this.
Trying to decide between a nano rand or one of these. Like the price of these way more.
Would you have to put this through a quantizer to make it work with other sounds? Is there any way to set the scale, or root note?

That case with modules is over a thousand. I would start with a case, a voice (Like BIA that Ricky has), clep diaz for modulation and maybe a filter. Just tweak and enjoy the process. You can get a lot of good deals finding this stuff used; see Reverb and look for good sellers.
damn son
Which screws do you use? 😅

Damn I was considering this filter to pair it with my Basimilus as well. How do you like it so far? I don't mind the module's harshness so I'm looking for something clean and punchy. My Doepfer Wasp filter didn't work at all.

The mmf you will not regret. Having 3 types of outputs in 4 up is hard to beat. Plus that ping haha
Does that Hpo have enough power to be used as an output module? I know you're doing that here but I'm wondering since I had an Erica Pico out and it wasn't loud enough.

Oh weird, I’ve noticed any issues. That’s one of the main reasons I got it was so I can actually turn down the modular system because it normally runs so hot
Bought the module based on this video. Only regret... I don't have 2!!
Someone should make a stepped lfo with random vibrato steps that are wavy flat parts
