    Started in 1973 blocking out cars. Retired in 2017 as a collision repair/refinishing vocational teacher for 20 years. You have mastered the technique and would make an excellent teacher. I always wanted the collision repair industry to unionize. Insurance companies have kept wages low compared to mechanics or other similar trades. The knowledge required to do what you have demonstrated is quite high. What is the labor rate that insurance pays where you are TriggerMan? In upstate NY ours was around 52.00 per hour.

    Thank you Sir! I really appreciate that man. Means a whole lot coming from an actual vocational school instructor/teacher who's actually taught guys this trade. Currently the rate is $48 per hour And I believe it's $90 for mechanical. Thank you for chiming in and welcome to the channel ♥️

    I was fresh out of HS in 1988, wanted to be a mechanic but couldn't justify paying the Snap-On bill. Bought a few nice guns, worked at a body shop for 3 months after vocational school post HS. Got treated worse than a four legged animal in a slaughter house. 😅 Stuck with it for myself and now have a few hundred jobs under my belt. Learned more from KZread from guys like Trig than school or trial and error combined. 💥👍🏼

    Hallo dom Poland. The hour of varnishman in the USA is similar to Polish, although the GDP per capita in the USA is twice as big! Mechanics in PL earn like painters and there are queues for both. Why? Because in Europe, studies are free and almost everyone has a master's degree, and no one wants to do manual labor.

    Long time watcher new subscriber. I got into the trade at 16 years old in 2005. Worked for an old school boss at busy commission shop mostly insurance work. Worked hard learned the trade and was the lead painter at 19 years old. Continuded to work hard and learn as much as I can. Shop went out of business during Covid and at 35 years old I find myself working in a shop very similar to yours. Thank you so much for showing the real world of our trade, no fancy booths, no down draft booths just real world body shop work. Being good in both situations comes from a solid foundation of the trade obviously you have that. If you can paint in one shop you can paint in any shop. Thanks for keeping it real and showing the real side of our trade. Peace from cali.

    Thank you Willie, I really appreciate that. The crazy thing is I wanted to start a channel like 8 years ago but because this place was so outdated I thought people wouldn't take me serious but it it turns out to be the complete opposite the channel is more relatable to the average guy than I thought this is the real world of this trade. I kick my self in the ass every day for not following my heart and starting the channel 8 years ago. But everything is on GOD's time. And now is my time. So with GOD and all of you guys the channel will grow just like it's doing. And I'm so grateful 🙏🏼 Thank you again Willie ♥️

Every time I see you go, you always show that every job has its own approach and you have to make that plan of attack before you start. You deal with real everyday obstacles and show how you deal to get the job done. And… nobody got anything on you for the side entertainment value 😂😂😂. @@thetriggerman954 Brother, personally the coolest and most practical trick I learnt from you was how to blend in a very tight area and using the clear base after putting down a coat of metallic base first (on a silver pickup truck you were doing). The experience that you pull out to get out of a jam or play with what you’ve got is the difference between botching something and having to start over or coming out in top. You keep it real and teach all of us that this is how it is and deal with it. I subscribed since the first month you’ve been up and watch every video and you’ve yet to disappoint. I started painting cars in 1987 and the first car I did was my Dad's car. It turned out pretty amazing for someone who never learned at an institute. I picked up a "how to spray paint and panel beat " book, read it from cover to cover then went to work. I did it mostly as a hobby for around 12 years then stopped but I'm about to get back into it after a long hiatus to restore my first car I bought way back in 1991. I still have the passion for it. Nice work triggerman. I had to whip out my LPH and play with it after watching😁 Do you spray at 26psi to atomize your clear right or is it for speed? Reason I ask is Iwata specs it at 15-16psi and Ive talked to people that spray around that and others alot higher. I sprayed my clear at 18psi and it atomizes really good but its a low solids thin clear. If i crank it up around 25psi the fan gets bigger. Same atomization just bigger with more overspray. I have the 1.3mm tip and silver cap.

  • @thetriggerman954

    @thetriggerman954

    3 ай бұрын

    Thank you Marc appreciate it man. Yes the gun does atomize at lower PSI but that's not Max.there is atomization then there's optimal atomization depends on the materials with low solid clear coats I spray around 19 psi. This AM-Tech clear coat here I use is higher solids than the 4:1 so I up it a little. There are guys I know that spray it around 30 psi. I never have there are guys I know that do. So you just have to play with it and even Then it changes when you change material.
